Queen Letizia chaired the annual meeting of the Board of the Residencia de Estudiantes (Student Residence) today.
Located in Madrid, Residencia de Estudiantes was the first cultural center of Spain. Founded in 1910, the Student Residence was a vibrant hub for scientific and artistic work and exchange in Europe. Nowadays, it remains one of the most prominent cultural centres in Spain. It hosts concerts, conferences and exhibitions. It is also inhabited by around 20 young outstanding artists and researchers, which keep alive the historical legacy of this place.
Her Majesty stepped out in a familiar frock which has become one of her signature pieces since she debuted the floral dress shortly after becoming Queen in June 2014:
To refresh your memories, the dress is the Hugo Boss 'Dinoma' sheath, rendered in the 'rose fantasy' floral print. It was from the BOSS 2014 spring/summer collection and retailed for €479/US$650.
Letizia accessorized the dress with her white Felipe Prieto flap leather clutch bag and nude LODI 'Saray' patent leather pumps.
She wore her hair up in a pretty pony-tail and finished the look with her Yanes flower stud earrings.
Looking back at some of Letizia's past outfits for this annual event, we expected Her Majesty to sport a corporate-casual style today. But she deviated from her penchant for pants and we were pleasantly surprised to see her don something a little more feminine.

Queen Letizia was a picture of elegance as she welcomed former UN Secretary Ban Ki-moon to Madrid today.
She was on hand to deliver an award from the Spanish Committee of UNICEF to Ban Ki-Moon, who was recognised for his 'exemplary career' and for his work on the defense, protection and development of children's rights.
Queen Letizia stepped out in a new white and black off-the-shoulder dress from her go-to fashion house, Caroline Herrera.
The Carolina Herrera Striped Off-the-Shoulder Midi Dress is from the designer's Spring 2017 collection. The Italian-made striped knit dress has a folded off-the-shoulder neckline, cap sleeves, fitted bodice and is finished with a pleated A-line skirt. The dress originally retailed for US$1,990 but has been reduced to $796.40 at Saks Fifth Ave, $769 at Bergdorf Goodman, and is also on sale at Neiman Marcus for $895.50.
Letizia extended the monochrome palette to her accessories. On her feet she wore her black heeled mules from Carolina Herrera's Spring 2015 line, and she carried her white Felipe Prieto flap leather clutch bag.
Letizia completed her perfectly coordinated ensemble with her Coolook 'Luna' earrings featuring a black onyx stud with a white onyx teardrop stone and a contrasting pave trim.
Following the event, Queen Letizia made a quick dash back to Zarzuela Palace to join her husband for the arrival of the President of Peru and First Lady. The Spanish monarchs offered a private luncheon in honour of their Peruvian guests.
The Queen of Spain welcomed audiences today at the Palace of Zarzuela.
Her Majesty looked smart and professional in a toned-down style, wearing a simple tweed vest and straight-cut trousers.
The sleeveless top is a new release and is fashioned with a black, white and pink pixel pattern. It features a fitted silhouette and round neckline. The brand/designer of the piece is currently unknown.
Letizia teamed the patterned top with her trusty black Hugo Boss 'Taru' trousers from the BOSS line.
On her feet she wore her classic black leather pumps from Magrit.
The King and Queen of Spain travelled north out of Madrid today for a visit to the National Center for Food Technology and Security (CNTA) in the town of San Adrián.
Their visit marked the 25th anniversary of the opening of the research centre which contributes to the development and innovation of food companies and encourages competitiveness in the sector.
For today's engagement, Queen Letizia stepped out in her oriental-inspired Felipe Varela outfit, consisting of a white pencil skirt with a striking burgundy floral pattern, and a coordinating burgundy silk blouse.
The ensemble has been one of her favourites since she first wore it in June 2015 during the royal tour of Mexico:
Today she accessorized with her blush Magrit patent clutch bag and burgundy LODI suede ankle strap pumps.
She finished the look with her cabochon garnet dangle earrings.
