Tonight, the King and Queen of Spain hosted the annual Balearic Islands reception at the Royal Palace of La Almudaina in Majorca. They welcomed hundreds of guests from the Balearic community, including politicians, academics, welfare groups and sports personalities.
Their Majesties were joined by Felipe's mother, Queen Sofia. She looked beautiful dressed in a floral tunic pant suit.
Queen Letizia showed off her summer glow in a pretty white Ikebana print frock by Juan Vidal. This is the first occasion she has sported a piece from the Alicante-born fashion designer. Vidal hails from a tailoring family that spans four generations and has created couture pieces for well known luxury fashion houses.
The silk cap-sleeve dress is part of Vidal's SS 2016 collection, which he showcased at last year's Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Madrid.
Letizia accessorized with her metallic gold Magrit strap sandals and beige Malababa 'Minihontas' agate leather bag.
She complimented the colours of the dress with a new pair of dangle earrings from Coolook. They are currently unavailable online but will be released shortly. Coolook has kindly provided me with a photo of the prototype design. They are made from gold plated silver and the irregular faceted natural stones are Labradorite, pink dyed agata and citrine.
Coincidentally, it was at last year's reception that Queen Letizia debuted the Spanish jeweler, which has gone on to become one of her favorites. She premiered the 'Hydra' earrings, and since then Letizia has added seven new styles from Coolook.
Tonight's ensemble was more feminine compared to previous years. Here's a recollection of Letizia's past looks at the Balearic Islands reception:
