On Tuesday, Don Felipe and Doña Letizia made an introductory visit to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg as King and Queen. Upon arrival at the airport they were greeted by Guillaume, Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg.
The royal convoy then traveled to the Grand Ducal Palace in Luxembourg City, where they were received by Henri, Grand Duke of Luxembourg. Before entering the palace, Her Majesty received a a bouquet of flowers and this was followed by a rendition of the Spanish and Luxembourg national anthems.
After the official welcome ceremony, King Felipe and Queen Letizia held a meeting with the Grand Duke and his wife Maria Teresa, Grand Duchess. Subsequently, the Grand Dukes hosted a luncheon in honor of the Spanish royals attended by their son Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and his wife Stéphanie, Hereditary Grand Duchess.
In the afternoon, their majesties held meetings with the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Mars Di Bartolomeo, the Prime Minister, Xavier Bettel, and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Jean Asselborn.
For today's international visit, Queen Letizia opted for an elegant wool coat atop her Felipe Varela monochrome wool crepe dress. Both pieces have been worn on previous occasions. The winter white coat dates back to November 2010, and the dress debuted in April 2012.
Today, Letizia accessorized with her grey suede Magrit pumps, a style she owns in many color and fabric variations.
She debuted a new snake patterned flap clutch bag with chain. Núria Tiburcio from Vanitatis tells me the bag is by Italian luxury brand, Furla.
Letizia paired her Chanel 'Comète' stud earrings with her Australian pearl earrings which she normally wears with the bezel-set diamond stud and links.
Tomorrow, King Felipe and Queen Letizia will pay a similar visit to Belgium.
