On Thursday, King Felipe and Queen Letizia hosted the traditional annual reception for the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Spain at the Royal Palace of Madrid.
The reception, held annually for the New Year, serves as an opportunity to strengthen diplomatic relations, promote international cooperation, and celebrate the diversity of the diplomatic community in Spain. The event typically attracts around 1,200 guests, and Their Majesties greet diplomats and ambassadors upon their arrival in the Throne Room of the palace.
Queen Letizia wore a new royal blue chiffon maxi skirt with a flowy silhouette, paired with a white shirt from The 2nd Skin Co.'s Spring/Summer '25 'Tabloza' Collection (a repeat piece)
The skirt is the 'Venus' style by Aletheia.
The skirt's style is similar to the pink chiffon piece Her Majesty wore to the 2023 Diplomatic Corps reception. However, I'm awaiting confirmation on whether it is also by Aletheia.
On her feet she wore her Magrit 'Clara' Pumps in Navy.
The Queen completed the look with her long diamond and sapphire earrings.
On Monday, the King and Queen of Spain, accompanied by their eldest daughter, Princess Leonor, participated in their first public engagement of 2025.
They presided over the traditional celebration of the Pascua Militar. This event is deeply rooted in the Spanish military and dates back to 1782 during the reign of Carlos III. The ceremony is held annually on the day of Epiphany at the Royal Palace of Madrid.
Following the parade, King Felipe, Queen Letizia and Princess Leonor made their way to the Throne Room within the Palace to meet officials from the Government, the Ministry of Defence and the Civil Guard.
It is customary for royal women to wear a full-length skirt for the Pascua Militar ceremony, and today, the Queen of Spain adhered to tradition by wearing a sleek burgundy column skirt, which she first wore in 2019 for the Diplomatic Corps reception (shown below).
On this occasion, she complemented the burgundy column skirt with a color-coordinated Falconeri cashmere sweater, creating a cohesive and elegant ensemble.
Retailing for US$295, the crewneck sweater is crafted from pure ultrafine cashmere, and offers a feather-light feel that keeps you warm without adding bulk, and finished with ribbed trim detailing at the cuffs, hem, and neckline.
During the outdoor parade, she covered up with her black short faux-fur jacket.
The queen carried her burgundy Magrit 'Lea' Clutch, and on her feet were a new pair of Magrit 'Clara' Pumps in Burgundy.
She elevated the ensemble with timeless pearl jewels, wearing the Ansorena diamond and pearl earrings, along with the Joyas de Pasar pearl necklace—a less common jewelry choice for her.
