The Queen of Spain started the working week in Albacete. She traveled to the Spanish province for the Red Cross & Red Crescent World Day ceremony. Each year, on 8th May, 189 countries mark the anniversary of the birth of the founder of the humanitarian organization, Henry Dunant.
In her speech, Queen Letizia highlighted the importance of the staff and volunteers of these two organizations, which save lives and assist vulnerable communities worldwide. The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent is the largest humanitarian network in the world.
For the occasion, Queen Letizia repeated the outfit she debuted at the Spanish Red Cross Fundraising Day in 2014. It consists of a white/black wool-blend check top by Danish label Designers Remix, paired with her signature black Hugo Boss trousers.
The ensemble is a favorite of the Queen's, and she has now sported this look on four occasions, two if which have been related to the Red Cross. I have dubbed it her "Red Cross uniform"!
Today, Letizia varied the look with black accessories. On her feet the Magrit 'Mila' pumps in black leather and she carried her Hugo Boss 'Fanila' clutch which she premiered at the 2013 Prince of Asturias Awards.
The BOSS 'Fanila' clutch is made from luxurious calfskin. The flap leather clutch features a polished metal spring lock on the front. The lined interior offers organizational pockets with a zippered compartment and mobile phone holder.
She finished the look with her Links of London Hope Egg earrings, also a favorite of the Duchess of Cambridge.

This evening, the King and Queen of Spain attended the 40th anniversary celebration of El Pais, one of Spain's top national newspapers.
During the ceremony, their Majesties also delivered the 32nd edition of the Ortega y Gasset Journalism Awards. The annual awards were established by El Pais to recognize journalists whose work has shown a remarkable defense of freedom, independence and professional rigor.
Queen Letizia surprised us today by debuting a new frock from Cortana. This is the first piece she has worn by the Spanish label. The label was founded by designer, Rosa Esteva who takes an artisanal approach to her designs. The Cortana line offers relaxed feminine silhouettes for day and evening. All of Cortana’s collections are designed and manufactured by skilled ateliers in Barcelona.
Letizia wore the 'Valentina' dress in blue (€940) from the SS16 collection. The fluid silk dress is a loose fit with dolman sleeves and v-shaped open back with off-centre buttons. It has a fitted waist and the skirt hits below the knee with a bias cut.
On her feet were a new pair of bronze leather heels. They are a bespoke version of Magrit's 'Vanessa' model (shown below in black).
Letizia coordinated the sandals with her metallic snake embossed flap clutch bag, which she has owned since 2011.
She finished the look with a new pair of beaded waterfall earrings.
ID UPDATE (29/05/2016)
The earrings are reportedly a bespoke version of these black diamond string earrings by TOUS (€5,274).

In her role as the UN's Special Ambassador of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) for Nutrition, Queen Letizia visited the Research Institute of Food Science at the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM).
The institute is a collaboration between the UAM and the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC). It is responsible for the development of quality scientific research in the area of Food Science and Technology.
Letizia held a meeting with the directors of the Institute and was later given a tour of the research facilities.
Queen Letizia repeated the exact outfit she wore during a recent visit to the Caribbean city of San Juan in Puerto Rico.
The ensemble consists of light grey Hugo Boss separates - BOSS 'Kamalia' fitted blazer with metal detail (US$545) and BOSS 'Acnes6' structured trousers (US$245).
She teamed the suit with her Carolina Herrera crosshatch houndstooth patterned blouse.
Her Majesty accessorized with tonal Magrit suede peep-toe pumps and Adolfo Dominguez whip-stitch flap clutch bag.
The only change to the outfit were her earrings. Today, she opted for the TOUS cultured freshwater pearl drop earrings.
