On Friday, Queen Letizia officially opened the 84th Madrid Book Fair, held in the picturesque El Retiro Park. This year’s event embraced New York City as its central theme, showcased through the vibrant initiative “New York Illuminates the Fair,” organized in partnership with the New York International Book Fair to celebrate literary and cultural connections.

On Thursday, Queen Letizia attended the national final of the Ibero-American science monologue competition "Solo de Ciencia" at the Fernando de Rojas Theatre in Madrid’s Círculo de Bellas Artes.
The event, organized by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT), aims to train and encourage researchers to engage in science communication from the early stages of their careers. On Wednesday, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia made an official visit to Guadalupe, in the province of Cáceres, as part of the celebrations marking the 10th anniversary of the King’s proclamation.
During their visit, the King and Queen were welcomed at the Guadalupe Town Hall, where the mayor, José Miguel Martín, presented the King with the town’s ceremonial staff. Both royals signed the town’s guest book and greeted residents from the balcony, receiving a warm welcome from the locals.
Afterwards, they visited the Fray Sebastián García Day Centre and Residence for the Elderly. The King and Queen spent time with the residents and staff, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to social care and community engagement.
The highlight of the trip was a visit to the Royal Monastery of Santa María de Guadalupe, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1993. Originally built as a small chapel in the late 13th century and expanded in the 14th century, the monastery has been the site of historic moments — including the audience where the Catholic Monarchs offered Christopher Columbus the ships for his voyage to the New World.

On Saturday, Infanta Sofía celebrated a significant milestone, graduating from UWC Atlantic College in Wales. The ceremony, held at the historic St Donat’s Castle, marked the completion of her two-year International Baccalaureate program.
Joined by her parents, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia, Sofía received her diploma in a heartfelt “Leavers Celebration,” surrounded by peers from 58 nationalities.

On Sunday, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain attended the inaugural Mass marking the commencement of Pope Leo XIV's papacy in St. Peter's Square, Vatican City.
Upon their arrival at St. Peter’s Basilica, Their Majesties were received by the Holy See’s Chief of Protocol, Javier Domingo Fernández.
