The King and Queen of Spain hosted the Balearic Islands reception this evening at Marivent Palace in Palma, Mallorca.
Their Majesties were joined by King Felipe's mother, Queen Sofia.

The reception is held annually during the royal family summer stay in Mallorca. They welcome hundreds of guests from the Balearic community, including politicians, academics, welfare groups, and sports personalities.

The Spanish royal family has made their annual summer trip to Mallorca, where they will attend official events before having a private vacation. On Sunday evening, Queen Letizia presided over the closing ceremony of the 14th edition of the Atlàntida Mallorca Film Fest at the La Misericordia Cultural Center in Palma.

Launched in 2011, Atlàntida Film Fest was Spain's pioneering online platform dedicated to showcasing the finest international films overlooked by traditional cinemas. During the ceremony, American actor and film producer, Michael Douglas was presented the Masters of Cinema Awards.

Coinciding with the festivities of Carmen Day, the patron saint of the Navy, the naval school hosted the swearing-in ceremony for first-year students and the presentation of commissions to new officers from the four corps of the Navy.
