ID UPDATE (13/10/2016) - Magrit have confirmed that the bag is their design.
The Spanish royal family attended National Day celebrations today.
The patriotic commemoration marks the anniversary of Christopher Columbus's arrival into the Americas on 12th October 1492, also known as Columbus Day in the United States.
King Felipe and Queen Letizia were accompanied by their daughters, Princess Leonor and Infant Sofia to preside over the traditional military parade in Madrid.
The young royals wore matching style coats from their mum's favorite American-based designer, Carolina Herrera.
Despite the rain, the family clearly enjoyed the national holiday.
Following the parade, the royal couple hosted a reception at the Royal Palace where they had invited diplomats and Spanish dignitaries.
As expected, Queen Letizia premiered a new bespoke design from her go-to couturier Felipe Varela.
She wore an off-white tweed coat-dress from the Spanish designer featuring a black beaded floral motif. The style is reminiscent of many of Letizia's dresses over the past few seasons.
Her Majesty accessorized the piece with a new clutch bag and shoes.
The natural toned pumps are by Magrit and appear to have a slub effect.
Unfortunately I have not come across hi-resolution photos of the over-sized clutch bag, but that too appears to be made from the same fabric as the shoes.
ID UPDATE (13/10/2016) - Magrit have confirmed that the bag is their design.
Letizia finished the look with her white gold bezel set diamond and Australian pearl earrings.
For this patriotic event, Queen Letizia has consistently favored tailored designs by Felipe Varela. In 2010 she branched out and wore a relaxed pant and shawl ensemble. Letizia's smart casual approach didn't go down too well with everyone, and she has since rectified her faux pas in subsequent years.

Today, the King and Queen of Spain presided over the annual meeting of the Board of the Instituto Cervantes (Cervantes Institute) at the Royal Palace of Aranjuez.
The Institutio Cervantes is a Spanish governmental institution which promotes Spanish culture and language across the world. The organization was established in 1991 and is named after Miguel de Cervantes who wrote the classic novel ‘Don Quixote'.
For the occasion, Her Majesty rehashed the Carolina Herrera tweed Peter Pan collared dress which she debuted in April this year and repeated a month later.
She again teamed the dress with her Magrit 'Laura' pumps in nude snake leather (bespoke). Below we show it in the off-the-shelf version; nude patent leather.
Today Queen Letizia varied the look by adding a black waist belt, a piece we have seen on several occasions.
Queen Letizia introduced another pair of interchangeable earrings from Spanish jeweler Coolook. She wore the smoky quartz 'Big Candy' stud earrings (€149.00) with the 'Hera' pendants (€247.00).
Today's prim outfit was a departure from her previous styles for this annual meeting. On the past two occasions since becoming Queen, Letizia opted for sophisticated separates from Felipe Varela.
Speaking of Felipe Varela, we can expect to see Her Majesty debut another design from her head couturier at tomorrow's National Day celebrations!

Queen Letizia attended a seminar marking the 25th Anniversary of the Ibero-American Cooperation - a unique cooperation formed of 22 Ibero-American countries which offers a channel to translate into specific actions the agreements and political commitments assumed by Ibero-American Heads of State and Governments at the annual Summits.
Her Majesty looked smart and chic in a white Felipe Varela Safari-inspired bouclé skirt suit.
She first wore the separates in June 2015 during an official visit to Paris, France. Letizia repeated the outfit a couple weeks later in Rome, Italy when she was appointed UN Special Ambassador for Nutrition. Today was the first occasion she had worn it on home soil.
Letizia opted to team it with the white Felipe Varela grommet canvas web belt, but she changed up the accessories. She came armed with her Uterqüe white snakeskin clutch.
On her feet she wore the Magrit snake-effect 'Mila' pumps.
Queen Letizia decorated her ears with the antique gold Bimba y Lola Double Hook Earrings which she only released several days ago at the Red Cross Fundraiser.
Tomorrow will attend the annual meeting of the Board of Instituto Cervantes and a subsequent lunch with the Patrons of the Cervantes Institute and the Latin American Ambassadors accredited in Spain.

The Queen of Spain ended her working week at the Prado Museum where she attended a meeting of the International Working Board of the Friends of the Prado Museum Foundation. She presided over meeting in her role as honorary president of Spain's national art museum.
For the conference, Queen Letizia recycled an oriental red Felipe Varela outfit, previously worn on three different occasions in 2015:
Queen Letizia accessorized the separates with her blush patent Magrit clutch.
In her feet she wore her Lodi 'Debra' bordeaux patent heels.
Letizia finsihed the look with her Coolook 'Kraz' interchangeable earrings featuring a combination of the 'Kraz' Mother of Pearl earrings and the 'Kraz' raspberry Agate tear drops.
Queen Letizia has a few engagements lined up next week, with the highlight being the traditional National Day celebrations.

Queen Letizia attended the Spanish Red Cross fundraising day (Dia de la Banderita). The fundraising event has been celebrated annually for over a century and customarily includes the participation of the Spanish royal family.
Showing her playful side, Queen Letizia left the fundraising table and took to the pavement to rustle up donations from journalists and photographers covering the event.
Queen Letizia threw her full support behind the Red Cross today, and looked vibrant in a red and white ensemble - reflecting the trademark colours of the global charity.
She debuted a pair of Uterque button culottes (£90.00) in a brilliant shade of red. They are cut with a wide, cropped leg defined by a pleated and creased front. The tab waist features four goldtone buttons. The pants herald from the brand's Spring 2016 collection (sold out).
She teamed the culottes with her natural white Hugo Boss 'Banora' blouse.
Letizia coordinated the look with her red and navy flap clutch. The unidentified bag made it's debut in June this year at the 10th anniversary luncheon for the Spanish newspaper, El Economista. I suspect it's by Carolina Herrera. It looks like the reverse of the CH clutch shown below. We have never got a good look at the front of the clutch to be able to confirm.
On her feet were a new pair of red patent pumps, also by Uterque (€79.95) - sold out.
The shoes are characterized by a flared block heel and squared-off toe.
Yet again, Queen Letizia showed off a new pair of costume earrings. They are from Spanish brand Bimba y Lola. She wore the retailer's Double Hook Earrings in antique gold (Was £59 - Now £47).
We will again see Her Majesty tomorrow when she attends a meeting of the International Board of the Friends Foundation of the Prado Museum.
QUEEN LETIZIA OUTFIT INSPIRATION ...
The Queen of Spain visited the "San Rosendo" Secondary College, located in the small town of Mondoñedo to officially open the Vocational Training courses for the 2016/2017 academic year.
Queen Letizia toured the school for a closer look at the courses on offer. She met teachers and students undertaking vocational training courses at the education centre.
Summer may have ended, but that didn't stop Letizia from wearing her favorite summertime tones.
Today she teamed her beige Uterque herringbone swing coat with her white Massimo Dutti cropped trousers.
She has worn the crepe trousers on many occasions, but we had not seen the coat since Letizia premiered it on the final day of the official visit to Mexico in July 2015.
Beneath the coat she wore a new white blouse with a key-hole neckline.
The relaxed-fit satin top is by Uterque.
She also kept her footwear neutral, wearing the Magrit 'Laura' pumps in nude snake leather (bespoke). Below we show it in the off-the-shelf version - nude patent leather.
The My Collect 'Leaving Gold' earrings adorned Her Majesty's ears.
Letizia carried a new nude leather clutch bag in a style we have seen before. It is the Hugo Boss 'Erica-V' clutch which she also owns in black, and silver snake skin.
Stylistically, it's been a mixed bag from Letizia for this annual event. Here's a look back at her past outfits for the opening of the Vocational Training courses:
