On Tuesday evening the Israeli President and his wife reciprocated the previous night's gala dinner by hosting a reception at the Royal Palace of El Pardo, their official residence during their State visit to Spain.
The cocktail reception was modest compared to last night's stately banquet, but Queen Letizia still dazzled in a black and white sequined number.
She debuted the Carolina Herrera Dégradé Sequin Silk Midi Dress (US$5,990). The sleeveless silk dress is designed with a jewel neckline and a fluid chiffon skirt which flares in a flattering A-line silhouette to an elegant mid-calf length.
The designer dress is decorated with black liquid-shine sequins from shoulder to hip, and white round paillettes throughout. Below is a closeup of the sequin detail.
Letizia teamed the sparkly cocktail dress with simple black accessories. She carried her Felipe Varela satin clutch and on her feet she wore her LODI straight-cut vamp patent pumps.
Her Majesty wore diamond chanton earrings which are part of the joyas de pasar - a collection of jewels designated by Queen Ena in her will for the select use of Spanish queens.
However, Letizia left the joyas de pasar bracelets in the royal vault and instead accessorized with a wide mesh-style bracelet and a knotted chain bracelet. She also wore her mysterious green stone ring.
The two bracelets hark back to her days as the Princess of Asturias. Here we see them worn independently.
This was the fifth State Visit of a foreign President to Spain in the three plus years that Felipe and Letizia have been on the Throne. Below are the past outfits worn by Letizia for these cocktail receptions. Do you have a favourite?

On Monday evening King Felipe VI & Queen Letizia held a gala dinner at the Royal Palace of Madrid for the President of Israel and his wife who are on a State visit to Spain.
The State banquet was also attended by representatives of government, business leaders, cultural ambassadors and the media from both countries.
Queen Letizia wore a mix of familiar pieces to create a stately ensemble.
She dug deep into her closet to revive a black and white patterned mermaid skirt by Lorenzo Caprile. Letizia first wore the piece for an official trip to New York in 2004. Tonight she teamed the skirt with a black bustier style top also by the Spanish designer. The last time she combined these separates was in 2006 at the Silver Wedding Anniversary celebrations for the Grand Dukes of Luxembourg.
Letizia elevated the look with some of her favorite royal jewels including Queen Sofia's "Mellerio Floral" tiara, and the joyas de pasar diamond bracelets stacked on one arm for maximum glitz. She also wore the diamond cluster and pearl drop earrings from the royal vault. Her Majesty donned the Order of Carlos III sash pinned with a diamond Fleur de lys brooch originating from the centerpiece of her "Princess" tiara.

King Felipe VI & Queen Letizia welcomed Israeli President Reuven Rivlin and First Lady Nechama Rivlin for the commencement of their State visit to Spain today. The visit marks 30 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
The official welcome ceremony was held at the Royal Palace of Madrid which included the playing of each country's national anthem and a Royal Guard parade.
Queen Letizia was the perfect host and escorted Mrs. Rivlin who carries an oxygen tank due to a respiratory illness.
After the ceremony, Their Majesties offered a private luncheon for their Israeli guests at their home in the Palace of Zarzuela.
Today Queen Letizia stepped out in a gorgeous purple-hued number by one of her go-to labels, Hugo Boss.
The 'Kusima' dress from the HUGO line features a subtle waist detail and is cut with a flattering fit-and-flare silhouette. It had an original retail price of US$545 before going on sale for US$272.99. It is still available in limited size at Hugo Boss online.
Queen Letizia covered up with her classic Burberry trench coat for the welcome ceremony. It has been a favourite of the Spanish royal since 2010.
Letizia complemented the look with a new set of matching taupe reptile-printed leather accessories by Magrit. She carried the 'Gisela' clutch bag (US$350), and on her feet were the 'Marcela' pumps (US$360).
There was also a debut in the jewelry department. Letizia finished the look with a new pair burgundy and green stone drop earrings.
They look very similar to the Pomellato Bahia drop earrings featuring amethyst with green tsavorite accent. However you will notice the prong settings and position of the green stones is different to Letizia's earrings.
There is an Etsy store that has the exact design of Letizia's earrings which they claim is based on a Pomellato design. I have included it below for reference. I have contacted Pomellato and they confirmed that Letizia must be wearing a copy.
In the evening, The King and Queen of Spain will offer a State Banquet in honor of the visiting President of Israel and his wife at the Royal Palace of Madrid. We expect to see Queen Letizia in a gown and crown jewels tonight.
