On Thursday, Cuenca welcomed the King and Queen of Spain for a day of celebrations and milestones. The visit marked a special occasion as part of the commemorations for the 10th anniversary of King Felipe VI's proclamation.
Their Majesties began their day with the inauguration of the new University Hospital of Cuenca, a cutting-edge facility set to enhance healthcare services in the region.
Later, King Felipe and Queen Letizia visited the City Hall of Cuenca, where they engaged with the Municipal Corporation.

On Wednesday, The King and Queen of Spain chaired the meeting of Board of Trustees of the Princess of Girona Foundation at The Royal Palace in Madrid.

Organized by FundéuRAE and the San Millán de la Cogolla Foundation, this year's event was titled The Language of Wars: How to Report on Conflict, gathered journalists, war correspondents, and language experts to explore topics like the impact of new technologies on war reporting, the use of euphemisms, and the influence of war vocabulary on other fields like health and sports.

On the final day of their three-day State Visit to Italy, the King and Queen of Spain started the day with separate engagements.
Queen Letizia attended a meeting with Spanish employees of the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations), where she has served as an ambassador since 2015. The gathering took place at the residence of the Spanish ambassador.
After completing their solo engagements, the royal couple traveled from Rome to Naples for the final events of the State Visit.

As the final event of their State Visit to Italy, the King and Queen of Spain attended a ceremony at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, where King Felipe was awarded an honorary Doctorate in Social Sciences and Statistics by the University of Naples Federico II.
This marked the university's 800th anniversary and celebrated the King’s commitment to knowledge, justice, and intercultural dialogue.
The ceremony, rich in symbolism, included a formal academic procession, speeches, and King Felipe’s Lectio Magistralis, where he expressed pride in joining the university community. The honorary title, the first awarded to a Head of State by the university and only the fifth in its history, was presented alongside the official Pergamina. This is the first Honorary Doctorate that King Felipe has received.
Following the event, Their Majesties departed for Spain, concluding their state visit to Italy.

The King and Queen of Spain are currently on a three-day state visit to Italy. They arrived in the capital, Rome, yesterday afternoon, and this morning they were officially welcomed by the Italian President and his daughter at Quirinal Palace.
Following this, King Felipe and Queen Letizia paid tribute to the unknown soldier with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the Altar of the Fatherland.
