The exhibition traces the life and enduring legacy of Queen Victoria Eugenia, whose modern approach helped redefine the role of royal consort in the 20th century. A granddaughter of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom, Victoria Eugenia married King Alfonso XIII of Spain in 1906 and brought with her a distinctly international outlook that influenced the Spanish monarchy during a period of significant change. Her impact continues to resonate today, as she is the great-grandmother of King Felipe VI.
Later, the royal couple visited Rey Juan Carlos University, where they met with 15 women survivors of sexual exploitation and human trafficking.
The women have received gastronomic training through a program run in collaboration with APRAMP, a Spanish non-profit organization dedicated to combating sexual exploitation and human trafficking, particularly among women and girls.
For the pair of engagements, Queen Letizia debuted a sophisticated black-and-white tweed ensemble handcrafted by students of the APRAMP fashion school, highlighting the organisation’s commitment to empowerment through education.
