The Spanish royal family made a surprise appearance in Madrid on Saturday to attend the procession of Our Lady of Solitude and Forsakenness and the Passage of the Most Holy Recumbent Christ on Holy Saturday, as part of the Holy Week celebrations in the Spanish capital.

King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia arrived in the United Kingdom on Friday to attend events culminating in the coronation of King Charles III. They were first spotted at the Spanish embassy in Belgrave Square, their official residence when in London.

Their Majesties joined other foreign royals and world leaders for a pre-Coronation cocktail reception at Buckingham Palace hosted by King Charles on the eve of his crowning.
During the event, the King and Queen of Spain mingled with guests and engaged in conversation with the British monarch.

On Tuesday evening, the XXI edition of the 'In Memoriam' concert, which honors the victims of terrorism, was overseen by the King and Queen of Spain at the National Music Auditorium in Madrid.

The annual event brings together the main institutions of the State, Government, political parties and different social and economic strata of Spanish society.

The King and Queen of Spain started their second and final day in Croatia at the headquarters of the State Archives of Croatia, where they inaugurated the Croatia-Spain IFMIF-DONES Forum. They were joined by the President of Croatia and the First Lady.

Their Majesties then visited the Spanish Embassy in Zagreb to meet a representation of the Spanish community residing Croatia.
While King Felipe VI met with the Speaker of the Parliament and the Prime Minister, Queen Letizia visited the SUVAG Hearing and Speech Rehabilitation Clinic with the First Lady.

The King and Queen of Spain, accompanied by their daughters, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía, began their second day in Oviedo at the Reconquista Hotel ahead of this evening's Princess of Asturias Awards Ceremony.

They first held an audience with the winners of the 'End of Career 2021' awards from the University of Oviedo.
Later they meet those awarded the "Medallas de Asturias 2022"
The Spanish Royal Family then move to Covadonga Hall where they received the 2022 Princess of Asturias Laureates.
