Queen Letizia is the honorary president of the 'FundeuRAE' board. The Foundation is non-profit organization established in 2005 to maintain the unity and purity of the Spanish language.

The King and Queen of Spain attended a concert on Friday marking the 50th anniversary of cancer research by the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC).
Queen Letizia is the Honorary President of the AECC, and before the concert began at the National Music Auditorium in Madrid, the National Orchestra of Spain performed a Happy Birthday for Her Majesty who turned 50 on Thursday.

King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia visited the UK Embassy in Madrid this afternoon to sign the book of condolences on the occasion of the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
Their Majesties were greeted by Hugh Elliott, the UK Ambassador to Spain before moving inside to write their condolences.

The King and Queen of Spain traveled to Austria today for the inauguration of the exhibition 'Dalí – Freud, an Obsession’ at the Belvedere Museum in Vienna.
Following their arrival, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia went to the Hofburg Imperial Palace where they were received by the Federal President of the Republic of Austria, H. E. Alexander Van Der Bellen and the First Lady, Doris Schmidauer.
Subsequently, King Felipe held a meeting with the Austrian President, in which delegations from both countries participated, while Queen Letizia held a meeting with the First Lady on matters of work of common interest.
Following lunch, Their Majesties, together with the President of Austria and the First Lady laid a wreath in memory of all the victims of National Socialism, and the Spanish victims in Mauthausen.
Their final stop was the Belvedere Museum where King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia inaugurated the 'Dalí – Freud, an Obsession’ exhibition alongside the President and First Lady of Austria.
The exhibition displays around a hundred of Dali's objects, paintings, and works that were influenced by Sigmund Freud's writings. It also examines the 1938 meeting between the Spanish artist and the Austrian psychoanalyst.

During the meeting at the charity's headquarters in Madrid, Queen Letizia was given a review of AECC's activities during 2021, and an update on the planned undertakings and challenges for 2022.

The Queen of Spain, in her role as Honorary President of the Foundation for Help Against Drug Addiction (FAD), chaired the meeting of its Board of Trustees, and the subsequent event (In)fórmate: Critical Thinking and Media Literacy.
Held at the Google Campus in Madrid, the outcomes of (In)fórmate, a collaboration between Google and FAD that trained more than 32,000 adolescents against disinformation in media literacy and critical thinking were discussed.
Queen Letizia stayed on to watch the "Surf the Net" presentation, a new project that Google and FAD will develop over the next two years to promote digital citizenship among schoolchildren from 12 to 18 years old.

The King and Queen of Spain presided over the XVI annual gala of the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE) and the tribute to the Tokyo 2020 Olympians, at the Headquarters of the Spanish Olympic Committee, Madrid.
During the gala, distinctions were presented to the gold medalists, recognitions to the silver medalists and honours to the bronze medalists. The King and Queen of Spain presided over the solemn institutional act commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Association of Academies of the Spanish Language (ASALE), at the Real Academia Española, Madrid.
The ASALE is the entity in charge of bringing together the different Academies of the Spanish Language in order to promote the unity, integrity and development of the Spanish language. Created in Mexico in 1951, it brings together the twenty-three corporations from America, Spain, the Philippines and Equatorial Guinea.
During the solemn act, the strategic projects in which the Association is working on were announced and several of the main historical milestones of the academies. In addition, the 'Chronicle of the Spanish language 2021' was presented, a work that analyzes the current state of the Spanish language in the Spanish-speaking world. Their Majesties received a copy of the 'Chronicle of the Spanish language 2021' and 'Quijote chico' from the director of the Royal Spanish Academy and president of the ASALE.
