On Thursday, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia presided over the inauguration of the 46th edition of the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) in Madrid.
FITUR is an annual event for tourism professionals from around the world and serves as the principal trade fair in Latin America. The five-day event, hosted at IFEMA Recinto Ferial (fairgrounds), will bring together thousands of tourism companies from over 100 countries. In the FITUR 2026 edition, Mexico holds the honored position as the guest country.
Their Majesties toured the halls and had meet-and-greet with some of the exhibitors at the fair.
They signed the book of condolences at the Andalusia stand in the wake of the devastating train accident in the region earlier in the week.
In a quiet mark of respect, Queen Letizia chose a sombre black ensemble, pairing a Hugo Boss fitted shirt with pleated-front trousers.
The pants were first worn in 2019 (shown below) and remain unidentified.
She incorporated her black leather Hugo Boss ‘Ley-D’ belt for a polished effect.
On her feet were the Massimo Dutti Heeled Loafers.
Queen Letizia finished the understated look with small diamond stud earrings and her PDPAOLA Diamond Solitaire Supreme Necklace.

The black ensemble was appropriate on this occasion. I like it. The black double front pleated pants look exceptionally lovely, not too baggy or long, a bonus!

Letizia has managed the tricky combination of finding an outfit which could both be attractive for the tourism theme of the engagement while also wearing the respectful black she needs right now.
