King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain joined members of Europe’s royal families and world leaders in Oslo on Wednesday to attend the funeral of King Harald V of Norway.
The Spanish monarchs were among the distinguished royal guests who gathered to pay their respects to the late king, who died on August 28 at the age of 89 after 35 years on the Norwegian throne.
The solemn day began with a ceremonial procession carrying King Harald’s coffin from the Royal Palace to Oslo Cathedral, where the funeral service was held. Following the service, the coffin was taken to Akershus Fortress for a private burial ceremony.
Queen Letizia chose a familiar black tweed ensemble, an understated choice she has turned to for prior solemn events.
She elevated the look with a black headband and the historic Joyas de Pasar pearl necklace, along with her Ansorena bezel-set diamond and pearl earrings, honoring the royal custom of wearing pearls for mourning.
The Queen finished the look with her favourite Carolina Herrera Victoria Insignia Satchel Bag, and on her feet were the Magrit Buckle Low-Heel Pumps.

The black tweed is very serviceable possibly made more sombre being worn with the low-heel Magrit pumps. Letizia looks elegant as always. The fabulous Joyas de Pasar pearl necklace and divine Ansorena pearl and diamond earrings raise any outfit to another level and keep Letizia right here

This was a sad occasion but I'm happy to see Letizia and Felipe looking well after what seemed like a very long annual vacation.

Letizia looks very funeral appropriate. There is really nothing more to say.

This black dress looks subtle and elegant. Very appropriate for this occasion. I especially love the pearl necklace, this is of substance, the pearls are a glorious size. The earrings were the perfect finishing touch.
