On Tuesday, the King and Queen of Spain began a three-day State Visit to China, starting their programme in Chengdu after arriving the previous day. While King Felipe inaugurated the Spain–China Business Forum, Queen Letizia presided over a commemorative event marking the 150th anniversary of the birth of Spanish poet Antonio Machado at the memorial to Chinese poet Xue Tao in Wangjianglou Park.

Queen Letizia’s visit to the park highlighted the rich tradition of the many women who have written poetry throughout China’s history, as well as the challenges they faced within the literary world.
Afterward, King Felipe and Queen Letizia reunited to attend an official lunch hosted by Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, and Shi Xiaolin, the Governor of Sichuan Province.

Their Majesties then travelled to Beijing, where the remainder of the State Visit will take place.

For the engagements in Chengdu, Queen Letizia wore her fuchsia tweed midi dress, first seen at last year’s Princess of Asturias Awards pre-events.

Throughout the day, she also wore her black COS Belted Double-Breasted Wool Long Coat.

Queen Letizia accessorised her look with her black Carolina Herrera Victoria Insignia Satchel Bag and a new pair of custom black leather pumps featuring a leather-covered buckle — a detail reminiscent of the brand’s ‘Carrie’ slingbacks.

The colour of this dress looks more coral than fuschia on my screen. Either way it is very vibrant and the cute fringe details on the waist and sleeves give it some added interest The longer length works well with the A-line skirt and 3/4 length sleeves always look great.

The Fuchsia colored dress is splendid, its lovely to see a rewear. The fringe details adding interest. I find this very attractive. I love the length a tad longer, the fit is perfect. The multi colored stone earrings are a marvelous choice. I love the black accessories.

The fuschia tweed midi dress remains extremely pretty on Letizia, the colour really suits her. The frayed edges are attractively placed and interesting. The Cos black overcoat sits over the dress nicely and the CH satchel bag is the ideal accessory. The black buckle pumps tie in nicely with the CH logo. The colourful Dime Frenchy Long Earrings provide a welcome spot of variety against the block colours. An ideal outfit for official foreign arrival.
