On Thursday, Queen Letizia attended the XVI NAOS Convention at the Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition in Madrid, where discussions centred on the importance of school meals, healthy eating, and inequalities in access to nutritious and sustainable food.

She also presented the XVII and XVIII NAOS Strategy Awards, recognising initiatives across the family, community, school, business, and health sectors that support the goals of the NAOS Strategy.
For the occasion, Queen Letizia opted for a mix of familiar pieces, pairing her black Hugo Boss “Alitas” jacket with green Maje “Pizelda” wide-leg tweed trousers.

This outfit (with too short pants for these chunky heels, and overall full cover under large items) kind of summarizes well this year. It seems to me like a bad year, fashion wise, which came after also a rather so-so 2024. I looked at all the 2025 posts: for me, the fingers of one hand would be plenty enough to count some outfits that stood out :(.
Seems to be some sort of intention to dress down, cover up, look more 'common', don't stand out, in the spirit of 'look at what I do not at what I wear'-kind of approach.

Elizabeth, I hope the winds change again, 'cose I could see how one could lose the drive to maintain a blog like this one...

Happy New Year!

The lowering of fashion expectations appears to be rule for the Princess of Wales as well which is also making for difficult fan following. Kate likewise barely has a handful of good outfits from last year. An epidemic of repeats is apparent among many European royal women as the cost of living continues to exert pressure. I had thought in Kate's case it might be that she may still feel quite unwell, but the fashion gloom seems so prevalent that she is far from being alone.

This outfit is so dull and boring. I don't understand the outfit choices of Letizia lately. I am finding them very disappointing. I know she is not a model and clothes should not be her main priority but it seems she has lost her love of stylish clothes and no longer cares what she wears. It is sad to see because she used to be so inspiring. I hope the New Year will motivate her to go in a more stylish direction.

I agree with this comment and also the one that Tibi wrote. Letizia once was a fashion maven. Now she seems to want to wear baggy and drab clothing. I agree that clothes are not as important as her work. However, at one time I felt she was one of the best dressed Royals. Let's hope as we move forward into 2026 that Letizia once again becomes stylish and exciting in her wardrobe.

I don't mind the pants, but a different colored top and jacket would have lifted the overall look, somewhat. Currently it looks sort of drab, tedious and monotonous. I'm not so keen on the Loafer shoes, either with these pants.

Letizia has clearly hit a serious business look with her dark outfit, though I see the pants are of a dark green shade rather than the stern black of the Hugo Boss jacket. The jacket remains swish with its long length, elegant single button, and piped pockets, and I like the contrast with what I find to be the fascinating textured tweed fabric of the trousers.

But it remains the case that wide leg pants cannot ever look good on petite Letizia, no matter how many different ways she tries them. Her chunky Massimo Dutti loafers help her height as much as is possible. but it can't ease the bulk of the trousers leg width.

The accessories are as polished as Letizia usually is with the black cashmere crew-neck layer top and and the no-nonsense Herrera satchel. I'm glad that what looks like an odd waist chain has been replaced by the more mature HB belt and delighted as ever with the sophisticated touch of the Gold & Roses Double Dagger earrings and their subtle sparkle. Almost a brilliant outfit were it not for those wide legs.
