On Tuesday, Queen Letizia presided over the presentation of the 48th edition of the SM Children’s and Young Adult Literature Awards, “El Barco de Vapor” and “Gran Angular” at the Royal Post Office in Madrid.

These prestigious awards, established in 1978 by the SM Foundation, aim to promote high-quality literature that fosters a love for reading among young audiences while conveying human, social, cultural, or religious values. Each award includes a prize of €35,000, making them among the most significant in the Spanish-speaking literary world for their categories.
For the occasion, Queen Letizia combined familiar separates, pairing a soft white semi-sheer metallic-print blouse with the structured black Hugo Boss ‘Leshina’ leather skirt.

On her feet was a new pair of pumps — the Aquazzura ‘Bow Tie’ 50 style. Expertly crafted in Italy from smooth suede, the shoes rest on low 50mm heels, feature side cut-outs, and are finished with a playful bow at the heel.

I've never liked leather for indoor clothing. It is okay for a jacket, coat, shoes or purse, however, it always looks stiff and harsh when used for a dress, skirt or pants. I like Letizia's blouse, bow tie shoes and velvet clutch, but her skirt looks rigid. Look how bulky it is below the waistline, in the first photo.

The belt is bothering me, is it too big? The blouse is pretty. I love her shoes and the GA clutch, very attractive. The link earrings look interesting.

The top is pretty and feminine. I like the delicate fabric with the unique folds on the shoulders and sleeves. It's a nice contrast to the bold look of the leather skirt.

Letizia is fond of her leather skirts and often styles them well but I'm having difficulty with this combination as the photos seem to show the waist coming up so high. The wide belt is certainly distinctive.

The metallic print blouse is very pretty and works well as contrast against the solid skirt. It's pretty, delicate, and feminine, but possibly struggling against the emphatic structure of the Hugo Boss skirt.

I had no idea the Aquazzura Bow Style slingback came in a low heel, and I think it looks better than a towering high heel. The pumps are charming under the midi skirt. The circular link earrings are a little severe but in keeping with the rest of the outfit. Letizia always looks appropriate for her royal duties.
