Queen Letizia brings back Burberry trench for private dinner in Galicia

On Friday evening, King Felipe and Queen Letizia were seen leaving the O'Peirao restaurant in Combarro, Galicia, Spain.

Their Majesties are in the area visiting Princess Leonor, who is currently attending military training at the Naval School of Marín. Their trip to Galicia will also include a private dinner to mark the 40th anniversary of King Felipe VI's graduating class's swearing-in ceremony at the Naval Academy.

She carried her black Mango 'Gardenia' Braided Leather Bag, and on her feet were a new pair of Hugo Boss 'Iryna' penny loafers (US$199).

I fully accept Letizia's issues with her feet and the need to wear lower heels. In fact, I like most of these now necessary shows. However, I don't understand why any woman would want to wear these heavy, clunky, masculine shoes. Surely a plain black ballet flat would look nicer.

I'm afraid ballet flats may be a touch last decade, and the clumpy chaps are now all the rage. I suspect Letizia is able to fulfill both comfort and fashion requirements with these. Personally I'd pick flats as I'd look ridiculous in such loafers, but Letizia is bold about what she tries to carry off.

It was raining, also the last day they were in Galicia a hurricane called Kirk, started....the weather got Very wrong, she needed strong shoes or boots

I think Letizia looks cute in her new clumpy Hugo Boss loafers, though it seems a bit hard that she might get critiqued on an off-duty night out. Her Burberry trench looks as chic as ever with the belt tied, and with a judicious scarf at the neck.

Her slimleg black trousers are just smart enough and all the black touches are finished off nicely with the Mango Gardenia Braided Leather bag which adds some fun texture. Even for a private dinner, Letizia continues to get it right.
