King Felipe and Queen Letizia, accompanied by their eldest daughter, Princess Leonor, the Princess of Asturias and of Viana, undertook a two-day official visit to the autonomous community of Navarre.
This marks Leonor’s first formal trip to Navarra, significant because her title of Princess of Viana ties her directly to the region—a title created over 600 years ago for heirs to the ancient Kingdom of Navarra.

The day commenced in Pamplona with a visit to the Palace of Navarre, the historic seat of the regional government.
The royal trio then travelled to Viana, where they met with the Municipal Council at the Town Hall before touring the Church of San Pedro ruins to view an exhibition marking the 600th anniversary of the title of Prince of Viana. They continued to the Serrat Gardens, taking in panoramic views of the former principality, and concluded with a visit to the monolith honouring Joan Manuel Serrat.

In the afternoon, the royals visited the Monastery of San Salvador de Leyre, the resting place of Navarre’s early monarchs. Before the Royal Pantheon, they honoured the ancient kings with the National Anthem and a wreath-laying ceremony, during which Princess Leonor observed a moment of reverence. The visit concluded with a meeting with the Benedictine community and a tour of the monastery grounds, taking in views of the Yesa reservoir.
On her first day in Navarre, Queen Letizia rewore her sophisticated burgundy Bleis Madrid wool-blend pantsuit, comprising a Tailored Blazer and Straight-Cut Trousers.
She debuted a new Carolina Herrera ‘Doma Insignia’ Medium Satchel Bag in a matching burgundy hue, valued at US$2,145.
