On Thursday, Queen Letizia presided over the event marking the 40th anniversary of the CEOE Foundation, a leading institution in promoting the social commitment of Spanish companies.

She presented awards recognizing the work of standout projects, including Marina de Empresas, the Princess of Girona Foundation’s Tour del Talento, and Cáritas, for their efforts in fostering integration and equal opportunities.
For this engagement at the Royal Theatre in Madrid, Queen Letizia arrived wearing her black COS Belted Double-Breasted Wool Long Coat, draped over her shoulders.

Her ensemble featured Hugo Boss separates. She debuted a semi-sheer grey pussy-bow blouse, a distinctly feminine piece, which she balanced with the weightier structure of her black Hugo Boss ‘Leshina’ leather skirt.

She carried her trusty Carolina Herrera Victoria Insignia Satchel Bag in Black.

On Letizia’s feet were a new pair of Tod’s ‘Barretta’ black block-heel pumps, distinguished by a logo-engraved bar bit that accents the cleanly squared calfskin-leather vamp, set atop a sturdy block heel.

I don't like this outfit. The bow of the blouse is too big, the grey colour is dull & the sleeves are too long. The leather skirt is too shiny and the A-line shape along with the puffy blouse is overwhelming Letizia with too much fabric. A straight cut leather skirt would greatly improve the look. The one saving grace is the beautiful shoes.

While leather is good for coats and jackets, I find it very harsh when used for skirts or dresses. It doesn't drape, it just is there looking very stiff. I find a semi-sheer blouse too light in weight and it looks out of balance with the heavy skirt. The pussy bow is too much. I do like the shoes and bag.

I prefer straight leather skirts as opposed to this one. The blouse is too big to my eyes, the material is not appealing to me. The idea was there with this ensemble, but overall its a no.
I love the shoes and bag, its gorgeous.

Letizia is back in her favourite leather though the bulkiness of this Hugo Boss skirt tends to belie the racy reputation of that fabric. The grey pussy bow blouse is pretty, but again hints at more mature style than leather is usually associated with. likewise the sleek Tods Baretta low heel pumps with their gold buckle. I like how she kept to gold for her hoop earrings.

I admire Letizia for experimenting with leather which I think is a great upgrade to royal outfits on certain occasions, and in this case she is nothing if not businesslike. However the mix of items here just fails to hit the kind of stellar success of which Letizia is so capable. A worthy outfit for an institutional 40th anniversary.
