King Felipe and Queen Letizia hosted a State Gala Dinner on Wednesday evening at the Royal Palace of Madrid in honor of the President and First Lady of Germany, who are undertaking a three-day State Visit to Spain.
In the Throne Room, King Felipe and Queen Letizia welcomed greetings from the attending Spanish and German dignitaries and guests before proceeding to the Gala Dining Room for the banquet.
For the stately occasion, Queen Letizia debuted a custom Carolina Herrera A-line gown. The black, floor-length design appears to be crafted from silk faille and features extended cap sleeves embellished with tonal floral motif beading, along with a sharply cut square neckline.

Queen Letizia chose the Cartier Pearl and Diamond Tiara, marking its first appearance since she wore it at the 2018 State Dinner for the President of Portugal.
Designed by Cartier in 1920 for Queen Victoria Eugenia of Spain (Ena), this platinum diadem is composed of swirls of diamonds surrounding eight large pearls, and is said to have been inspired by Egyptian motifs, which were popular at the time.
Queen Letizia complemented the tiara with the joyas de pasar diamond earrings — another heirloom from Queen Ena. Adding further distinction to her look was the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, recently bestowed upon her.
