Queen Letizia dazzles in elegant The 2nd Skin Co. ensemble at Italy State Visit finale

As the final event of their State Visit to Italy, the King and Queen of Spain attended a ceremony at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, where King Felipe was awarded an honorary Doctorate in Social Sciences and Statistics by the University of Naples Federico II.

This marked the university's 800th anniversary and celebrated the King’s commitment to knowledge, justice, and intercultural dialogue.

The ceremony, rich in symbolism, included a formal academic procession, speeches, and King Felipe’s Lectio Magistralis, where he expressed pride in joining the university community. The honorary title, the first awarded to a Head of State by the university and only the fifth in its history, was presented alongside the official Pergamina. This is the first Honorary Doctorate that King Felipe has received.

Following the event, Their Majesties departed for Spain, concluding their state visit to Italy.

The skirt is way too wide. The taffeta fabric looks messy and the beige colour is dull especially for evening. The white shirt does nothing for the outfit.

I like the blouse and skirt but agree with the previous commenter that another color would have been better for the evening.

It is Rome, Italy, colours are not only for the day, It is another culture, South Europe, and people wear a lot of black in the day, as in Spain, France, Portugal, Mónaco...

I like the idea of this skirt, but it has too much volume, but in saying that I feel the Queen wears it well enough, I don't mind the color of her blouse. The coat is beautiful. I do like the color of her accessories.

Letizia has returned to her customary flair for daring with this stand out The 2nd Skin Co taffeta skirt which could swamp any lesser mortal. Letizia, of course, boasts the very slender waist which helps make a success of such a pick, balancing out the skirt volume.

I saw the Daily Mail mistakenly refer to it as a puffball skirt, which it most certainly isn't, as your pictures show it quite clearly isn't gathered in again at the hem, as such skirts are. Presumably it was only done for the headline.

I'm impressed to see how well the low-heel slingbacks cope with such drama and love how the clean chic lines of the Magrit Top Handle bag chime with the superb sleek Angel Schlesser jacket while supporting the neutral tone of the skirt.Love the gold ribbon and diamond earrings.
