Queen Letizia dazzles in Max Mara at Italian State Banquet

The King and Queen of Spain are currently on a three-day State Visit to Italy. To conclude their second day in Rome, Their Majesties attended a state banquet in their honour, hosted by the President of Italy at the Quirinale Palace.

This is a beautiful black dress, I love it, fits beautifully. Her choice in jewels, perfection. The black diamond earrings are gorgeous. The diamond bracelets, wonderful to see them both worn together. Love the black and crystal clutch. Splendid presentation by the Queen.

The gown is beautiful. I like the look of two different types of fabric for the top and bottom. The dark stone earrings don't really stand out. Clear or white diamonds would have really added some sparkle. It may just be the choice of pictures but for some reason Letizia looks very tense on this occasion.

This is a wonderful sophisticated new Maxmara gown for Letizia, I'm loving the crumpled, pleated texture top against the smooth long satin crepe body.

The fur-style jacket looks suitably glamorous worn over the dress. The crystal bow tie clasp on the Aquazzura clutch seems a bit bold by Letizia's standards, but of course works in brilliantly with the silver of the stunning Joyas de Pasar bracelets. I really don't mind how many times I see those bracelets on Letizia.

The stand-out jewellery for me on this state occasion has to be the amazing de Grisogono Black Diamond Teardrop Earrings, which were simply made for this ensemble. I'm glad the Magrit slingbacks can also blend in so well with this super outfit.
