I'm happy to say that Letizia has fulfilled her royal duty of appearing in an appropriate and discreet outfit. But, I'm afraid I have to say I think this Adolfo Dominguez offering is a mistake. I can't honestly see how it could be styled effectively.

The studio shots show it worn with flats, which might have attracted Letizia's attention. But the deep smocking with such a dull colour looks way too heavy, especially on petite Letizia, and especially with the sleeves pushed up. The asymmetric hem just looks random.

The studio shots try to balance all the weight with with dark flats, but the pretty Pedro Garcia pave strappy sandals are so pale they unfortunately make Letizia's feet look larger. I appreciate that she has attempted a summery vibe with pale accessories, but I'm not a big fan of the crumpled pleated clutch.

I'm definitely here for the lovely Pertegaz earrings, these always add class. I am just glad I don't have to work out as many royal wardrobes as Letizia and continue to admire her for the many successful outfits she pulls off.

The elastic waistband and uneven hemline, is not appealing to me, regardless she looks lovely in this dress. Her sandals look great. The nude bag works in well with the overall look. Love, love! her earrings!

I have to agree with you Ava. The waistband is too wide and unattractive. And there is too much fabric in the bottom of the dress overwhelming Letizia. I do like the blue/gray colour of the fabric.
