Spain's National Day, observed annually on October 12th, commemorates Christopher Columbus's 1492 arrival in the Americas. The holiday is highlighted by a military parade, showcasing the nation's armed forces and celebrating Spanish history and heritage.
Following the parade, Their Majesties hosted a reception in the Throne Room of the Royal Palace. The event welcomed diplomats and prominent Spanish dignitaries.

For today’s national commemoration, Queen Letizia debuted a green tweed A-line midi dress featuring cropped sleeves with slit cuffs and a flattering square neckline. The frock is believed to have been custom-made by Queen Letizia’s personal dressmaker.

The green tweed fabric of this dress is gorgeous. It's perfect for an autumn day. I think the dress is beautiful and has many smart looking features. The 3/4 length sleeves with slits are unusual as is the square neckline but they make the dress much more dramatic. The thin belt looks great and is very subtle. Letizia should wear green more often.

In the first photo everyone looks so glum. Surely this is a day for celebration. I like Letizia's dress, especially the square neckline and the vibrant green colour. It is a "no fuss" dress that makes a statement. The black belt, shoes and purse work well and the emerald earrings look stunning.
I realize that wearing tights/pantyhose is not considered modern. The late Queen Elizabeth always wore them and preferred that her female family members did also. One benefit is that the hose smooths out the tone of the legs and feet. Letizia's feet are lean and sinewy and it is my opinion that wearing hose would give a more polished look.

I was delighted to see Letizia showcase such a classic dress in this gorgeous green for the National Day. I like the neat square neckline and bracelet sleeves with distinctive elbow slits, and I also like the texture of the tweed which brings interest to the monotone colour. In one of your shots the texture appears to resolve into the suggestion of a subdued plaid pattern, and, if so, I think that's very classy.

The dangling Tous emerald cascade earrings were the perfect addition to lighten the whole, while black accessories served to define the look, from the slim Hugo Boss Arnie belt, to the smart Caroline Herrera Victoria Insignia Bag, and the Massimo Dutti slingbacks.

This is a beautiful tweed dress, with interesting features. The color of the dress is gorgeous, I love it! I like the side slits of the cuffs of her sleeves. The dress is the perfect length. The black accessories work in well. I really like her CH Bag. The color of the emerald stones are a rich stunning color.
