The King and Queen of Spain are currently on a three-day state visit to Italy. They arrived in the capital, Rome, yesterday afternoon, and this morning they were officially welcomed by the Italian  President and his daughter at Quirinal Palace.

Following this, King Felipe and Queen Letizia paid tribute to the unknown soldier with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the Altar of the Fatherland.

Their Majesties then attended a luncheon hosted by Giorgia Meloni, the Prime Minister of Italy, at Villa Doria Pamphili.

After lunch, the King and Queen visited Palazzo Madama, the seat of the Senate of the Italian Republic, which serves as the upper house of the Italian Parliament.

They then proceeded to the Montecitorio Palace for a joint session of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of the Italian Republic. During this exceptional event, King Felipe addressed the Italian legislative chambers, marking one of the central moments of the State Visit. His speech, delivered in the context of a parliamentary ceremony, provided a unique opportunity to address all Italian citizens through their elected representatives.

EARRINGS: Gold & Roses Luzia 2 Stars Earrings (repeat). I can only assume she also wore the 3 Stars earrings on her right earlobe, as she has consistently done in the past when pairing them with the 2 Stars.

I'm glad the design was tweaked and the sleeves were toned down from the original. Letizia's version is understated and very flattering although I do like the embellishment on the sleeves worn by the model. The embroidery on the blazer's front is very pretty and the suit fits her perfectly.

This is a pretty ensemble. The only thing I don't like are the sleeves. The embroidery is well done, adding interest and pretty. Love the pink color of this outfit. Love her accessories, shoes and bag color. Her earrings are lovely.

Calling this beautiful suit "inspired" by the one on the model is a serious stretch. Color the same, neckline similar. That's it.

I think on balance this Carolina Herrera skirt suit has just about worked for the formal occasion in a splendid setting. I think the studio shot of the puff-sleeved jacket looks better complete with exaggerated shoulders if only because all the ornate work looks in keeping.

However trying to reduce the shoulders to a mere puff arrangement looks a bit out of place, and it's tempting to suggest the alteration should not have been attempted, and another outfit found. I perfectly understand the attempt to make the change and certainly the front embellishment is in keeping with Letizia's role and she suits the pale pink very well.

The Magrit top handle bag is sleek and a great choice, the Magrit stilettos work well. The Gold & Roses earrings are perfect.
