Queen Letizia looks terrific in tweed at El Mundo event

On Thursday, Queen Letizia presided over the ceremony marking the 35th anniversary of El Mundo newspaper's founding at the Crystal Gallery in Cibeles Palace, Madrid.

During the event, she also presented the XXII edition of the El Mundo International Awards to journalists Xavier Colás and Michael Reid.

I like how the unusual shoulder design makes what might have been a dull dress into something more visually appealing and interesting. The length of the dress is perfect and it fits Letizia well. The white coat looks stunning against the navy tweed.

From the studio shot I would have thought this was a super dress for Letizia, but I take exception to the asymmetric neckline being dragged over to reveal her shoulder. I think it looks better as an example of clear asymmetry rather than apparently being stretched into a red-carpet look.

I'm very impressed by the smart new Magrit Mica bag and the low-heel Magrit pumps work well. The Angel Schlesser Open Front Midi coat in white is sensational, a fine piece of tailoring and a classic item that should last well over time. The Sapphire and Diamond drop earrings are equally sensational.

The dresses, while similar, do not appear to be identical, fabric notwithstanding. The necklines are quite different, sleeves a different length, and skirt fitted to the knee instead of looser. HM neckline seems too high on her neck to be comfortable, and the left side of the neckline is so wide that it allows her plastic bra strap to show. All in all, I like the black one better. Beautiful earrings though.

The white coat is beautiful, wonderful cut.
I love this dress, its very distinctive, the length of the dress, perfect!. The neckline, I love, its different and it suits her well. The Navy tweed is beautiful, just love it. Her bag and shoe color is good. The sapphire and diamond earrings are beautiful.
