Queen Letizia Stuns in JOSEPH for Dinner and Tour at the Giza Pyramids

On the second evening of the State Visit to Egypt, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and First Lady Entissar Amer El-Sisi hosted King Felipe and Queen Letizia for a private dinner at a restaurant near the Giza Pyramids Complex.

Afterward, Their Majesties, together with the Presidential Couple, enjoyed a guided tour of the Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx.

For the dinner, Queen Letizia debuted a luxurious blue silk crepe gown by JOSEPH — the ‘Leila’ style. The full-length, fit-and-flare design featured a knotted center that accentuated the waist and created an elegant gathered detail.

She complemented the dress with silver accessories, pairing her Magrit ‘Mar’ pumps with the matching ‘Lian’ clutch.

The earrings appear to be the diamond drop pair Queen Letizia first debuted at the 30th anniversary El Mundo gala dinner in 2019.

I love the vibrant blue colour of this dress. The gathering throughout the dress is pulled together nicely with the unique waistband. The voluminous sleeves are elegant.

Wow, what an epic venue, and I think I can trust Letizia to understand the assignment. Although we are not blessed with especially good pictures, she looks to have chosen a lovely gown in a tremendous colour which suits her.

As shown in the studio shots the Joseph Leila dress doesn't look especially interesting, but it looks from these pics as if it flatters the Queen very well, the pretty knot coming to the front and the shirred waist feature fitting smoothly around her middle, allowing the full skirt to fill out naturally, while her arms are covered in the style of local custom by the gathered full length sleeves.

Silver accessories are a win for me, the Magrit slingbacks mostly hidden under all that skirt fabric, and the matching Lian clutch chic and unobtrusive. The diamond drop earrings make a fine finishing touch above the gathered neckline.

What an impressive backdrop! Queen Letizia’s dress is a perfect choice for the occasion, and the sapphire blue hue is simply stunning. I only wish higher-quality photos were available. The pairing with silver accessories is also a lovely touch.
