On Tuesday, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia held an official ceremony at the Royal Palace in Madrid to welcome the Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik of Oman.
The Sultan is on a three-day State Visit to Spain, aimed at highlighting and strengthening the ties and bilateral relations between the two countries. Below is a video of the welcome ceremony.
Afterward, Their Majesties hosted an official lunch for the Sultan at Zarzuela Palace.
For the welcome ceremony, Queen Letizia wore her grey embroidered dress by Pertegaz, layered beneath a new long black double-face wool coat from COS, featuring a relaxed wrap silhouette, shawl lapels, a double-breasted closure, and a tonal belt to define the waist.
She completed the look with black leather accessories, carrying her Carolina Herrera ‘Victoria’ Insignia Satchel bag and wearing Magrit’s ‘Clara’ pumps.

This is an interesting dress with its splash of flowers. My preference would have been to eliminate the bow and have a plain, rounded neckline. That said, the bow does add a nice touch, when seen peeking out of the rather severe, black coat.

I like how Letizia has been able to use the tie bow from the Pertegaz dress to peek out from the v-neck of the heavy black Cos overcoat so helping to lighten its severity.
