They presided over the traditional celebration of the Pascua Militar. This event is deeply rooted in the Spanish military and dates back to 1782 during the reign of Carlos III. The ceremony is held annually on the day of Epiphany at the Royal Palace of Madrid.

It is customary for royal women to wear a full-length skirt for the Pascua Militar ceremony, and today, the Queen of Spain adhered to tradition by wearing a sleek burgundy column skirt, which she first wore in 2019 for the Diplomatic Corps reception (shown below).

On this occasion, she complemented the burgundy column skirt with a color-coordinated Falconeri cashmere sweater, creating a cohesive and elegant ensemble.

Retailing for US$295, the crewneck sweater is crafted from pure ultrafine cashmere, and offers a feather-light feel that keeps you warm without adding bulk, and finished with ribbed trim detailing at the cuffs, hem, and neckline.

The queen carried her burgundy Magrit 'Lea' Clutch, and on her feet were a new pair of Magrit 'Clara' Pumps in Burgundy.

Letizia looks very elegant in head to toe burgundy. The top and skirt are such a perfect match, that this looks like a long dress. The details at the waist add some interest. It is unusual to see the Queen wear a necklace and this pearl one and the diamond and pearl earrings, add some pizazz to an otherwise plain ensemble.

The outfit has a subtle, subdued elegance. Letizia's perfect posture and natural poise make it very alluring and the burgundy colour is lovely. I like the simplicity of the beautiful pearl necklace and earrings.

The sweater is Falconeri Ultrafine Cashmere Crewneck Sweater

I agree with the aforementioned comments. I thought the Queen was wearing a dress until told otherwise. The top matches perfectly and I never would have guessed it was a sweater because of it's featherweight. I am so happy to see the pearls on Letizia. They really do finish off the outfit elegantly!

I have to hand it to Letizia for being able to match the burgundy column skirt so exactly with the Falconeri cashmere sweater to create such a soft and elegant ensemble for the Pascua Militar Ceremony, It looks just great when worn outside with the handy faux-fur short jacket in black.

But the star of the show surely has to be the fabulous Joyas de Pasar pearl necklace -- the size of those gems! And not forgetting the gorgeous diamond and pearl drop earrings. The fashionable burgundy shade of her outfit supplies a perfect background for these amazing gems.

Her new low-heel burgundy pumps from Magrit tie in well with the outfit, and the Magrit clutch is also perfect.

I love, love! this burgundy outfit, she looks incredibly good. The pearl necklace and earrings are the perfect finishing touch, its not often we see her in pearl necklaces especially. Love this strand of pearls, the size of the pearls, is of substance, the length is perfect. Very elegant and understated look.
