Ansorena Fleur de Lys TiaraThis spectacular tiara showcases three large fleur-de-lis motifs, each adorned with magnificent round diamonds, intricately connected by swirls and scrolls, all meticulously set in platinum. Symbolizing Spain's reigning family, the House of Bourbon, the fleur-de-lis motifs stand as iconic emblems of royalty.
Commissioned in 1906 by the Spanish court jeweler Ansorena, the Fleur de Lys tiara holds historical significance as a wedding gift from King Alfonso XIII to Victoria Eugenie of Battenberg, affectionately known as Queen Ena. Regarded as the crown jewel of the Spanish royal family, it holds a place of prominence and is endearingly referred to as "La Buena," or "The Good One," by the royal household. The tiara is one of the joyas de pasar, a collection of jewels designated by Queen Ena in her will for the select use of Spanish queens. |
