The King and Queen of Spain attended a dinner this evening commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Spanish newspaper, Expansión.
Queen Letizia looked sophisticated in a new Carolina Herrera number for the event held at the The Westin Palace hotel in Madrid, which was attended by three hundred guests from the economic, business, academic and institutional sectors.
She wore a set from the designer's Pre-Fall 2015 collection featuring a top with feather and bead applique on the sleeves, and a matching pencil skirt.
Letizia kept her accessories simple but made a statement with a new pair of dazzling diamond and ruby chandelier earrings, which she complemented with cherry red lipstick. Unfortunately we don't know the origin of these sparkling beauties.
Here's a closer look at her Felipe Varela satin clutch bag and black LODI straight-cut vamp patent pumps.
Letizia swept her hair up in a side braided up-do.

Following a weekend vacation at a ski resort, it was back to work for the King and Queen of Spain on Monday. The royal couple attended the 2016 Innovation and Design Awards in Madrid.
Their Majesties delivered the prizes which are Spain's highest recognition of companies and professionals who excel in the fields of design and innovation.
Queen Letizia made quite the impression in an olive green cape dress as she arrived for the event held at the Regional Archaeological Museum of the Community of Madrid.
The contemporary piece was a fitting choice for the awards ceremony as it represented innovative design. So is it a dress, or is it a cape? From what we can see, it's a cropped sleeve sheath dress with an attached cape-coat.
Unfortunately we still don't know the designer of this superhero-inspired piece.
Letizia offset the cape dress with snake skin accessories. She carried a new python clutch handcrafted by Spanish brand Lidia Faro. On her feet she wore the Magrit 'Mila' snake-effect pumps.
The Queen debuted a new pair of silver ear cuff earrings featuring small pearls and crystals. The brand/designer is unknown.
The Spanish royal family headed to the ski slopes this weekend.
The family of four posed for an official photocall during their short winter break at the Astún ski resort situated in the High Aragon of the western Pyrenees, near the French border.
Queen Letizia opted for all-black ski gear which contrasted perfectly against the snow white backdrop.
She wore the Bogner 'Mabel-D' ski jacket, a high-performance waterproof jacket insulated with 650-fill power white goose down.
She also wore the Bogner 'Freeride' Ski Helmet and ski googles by Swans.
Queen Letizia chaired the sixth annual Forum Against Cancer meeting in Madrid today, organized as part of the events to mark World Cancer Day, on February 4th.
In her role as honorary president of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), Her Majesty delivered a speech to open the session.
Queen Letizia premiered an elegant grey structured suit with a futuristic flair from her go-to brand, Hugo Boss.
The separates include the BOSS 'Jadela' Stretch Virgin Wool Asymmetrical Blazer (US$625) teamed with the matching BOSS 'Tiluna' Stretch Virgin Wool Dress Pants (US$275).
Letizia accessorized the set with her black Carolina Herrera metal bar flap clutch bag and Magrit charcoal suede platform pumps.
She finished the look with her beloved gold filigree hoop earrings.
Today's look was consistent with the executive tone of previous years:
King Felipe and Queen Letizia welcomed the German President Joachim Gauck and his partner Daniela Schadt at their home in the Palace of Zarzuela, in Madrid, today.
The president's one-day visit was of a private nature but made time to have lunch with the Spanish royals.
It came as no surprise that Queen Letizia chose to sport an outfit by her favourite German brand, Hugo Boss. The ensemble consists of the BOSS 'Colorina' wool-blend striped coat, matching BOSS 'Malivi' color-block wool blend skirt, and BOSS 'Binary' blouse.
On her feet were the Uterque camel leather block heels.
Letizia offset the look with her Bimba y Lola Double Hook Earrings in antique gold.
