Queen Letizia dons neutral separates for a day of engagements

On Tuesday, Queen Letizia had a busy day filled with consecutive engagements. Her first meeting was with the Spanish National Women's Football Team, who are preparing for their participation in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 held in Australia and New Zealand from July 20th.

Her Majesty bid farewell and offered words of encouragement to the team ahead of their departure.

On Friday, Queen Letizia attended the national final of the scientific monologue competition "Solo de Ciencia," which was organized by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology and took place at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid.

This event marked the first Ibero-American contest of scientific monologues, with participation from eight finalists.

The contest aims to engage and train researchers in scientific dissemination right from the early stages of their professional careers. Furthermore, it provides an opportunity to highlight the use of Spanish as a language for scientific communication, employing an innovative, entertaining, and accessible format for the general public.

The King and Queen of Spain hosted a luncheon at the Royal Palace of Madrid in honor of the King and Queen of Jordan on the occasion of their visit to Spain to attend the Aqaba Process meeting.

Prior to the luncheon, Queen Letizia and Queen Rania visited the National Heritage workshops at the Royal Palace.

During their visit, they had the opportunity to tour the workshops that specialize in the restoration and preservation of historical artifacts.

For today's royal outing, Queen Letizia debuted a printed silk jacquard dress by Spanish atelier, Diego Estrada. The sleeveless sheath dress has a bold floral pattern throughout in a mix of sky blue, pink and coral, and features a square neckline and nipped in waist.

On her second and final day in the South American country she traveled to the city of Cali, where she visited a coffee farm of the Ecomún-Cecoespe Cooperative in the municipality of Yotoco.

Queen Letizia then visited the Cali Gardening Workshop School in the afternoon. There, she learned about diverse productive initiatives supported by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID). These initiatives involve the participation of Colombian local governments, administrations, the private sector, cooperatives, organizations of indigenous peoples, and Spanish NGOs.

In her last destination of the trip, Her Majesty visited the Santa Elena neighborhood. There, she gained insights into women's projects funded by the BBVA Microfinance Foundation (Bancamía). These projects involve the management of street stalls. During her visit, the Queen engaged in conversations with sellers, employees, and managers of Bancamía to inquire about the project.

She was dressed in her typical Coop uniform, which included a white Imiloa 'Orchid' shirt, olive slim-leg jeans, and Panama Jack combat boots.

Queen Letizia on Day 1 of Spanish Cooperation trip to Colombia

Queen Letizia is currently on a Spanish Cooperation trip to the Republic of Colombia. She began the trip in earnest with a visit to the Spanish Cooperation Training Center in Cartagena, where she met with staff and unveiled a commemorative plaque.

Next, Queen Letizia was joined by Verónica Alcocer, the First Lady of Colombia, for a visit to the Villahermosa neighborhood. There, they learned about the improvements that had been made thanks to the Spanish Cooperation's drinking water supply and household sanitation program. They also visited homes and met with locals who were benefiting from the program.

In the afternoon, Queen Letizia and the First Lady visited the Cartagena de Indias Workshop School, created in 1992 with the support of the Spanish Cooperation to contribute to the training for work of young people in traditional trades.

This was followed by a visit to the historic site of Bastion of Santa Catalina, to learn about the restoration work carried out by the students of the Cartagena de Indias Workshop School.

There were no sartorial surprises from Queen Letizia today. She was dressed in her Coop garb, consisting of a white button-up shirt, khaki-olive Adolfo Dominguez jeans, and her Panama Jack combat boots. Thanks to eagle-eyed Núria Tiburcio for identifying the pants via the logo on the button.

On Monday, Queen Letizia arrived in the Republic of Colombia in preparation for her two-day Spanish Cooperation trip to the South American country.

Queen Letizia touched down at the Rafael Núñez International Airport in Cartagena de Indias. Upon disembarking, she was warmly welcomed by Verónica Alcocer, the First Lady of Colombia, and Joaquín de Arístegui, the Spanish ambassador in Colombia, along with other Colombian officials and personnel.

In the upcoming two days, Her Majesty will delve into the endeavors of the Spanish Cooperation in Colombia, gaining insights into their longstanding efforts in the fields of healthcare, governance, gender equality, rural development, and food security.
