Reception for Chilean President

Queen Letizia ended her working week with a reception at the Pardo Palace hosted by the President of Chile, Michelle Bachelet.

For the occasion, Her Majesty reused several pieces from her existing wardrobe to create a fresh ensemble. She wore a Felipe Varela skirt adorned with gold, silver, and bronze beads—a piece she's owned since 2012 and has worn on numerous occasions.

Tonight, Letizia combined it with a black sheer-sleeve ruffle placket blouse and a black leather waist belt.

ID UPDATE (19th Jan 2020): After all these years I was finally able to identified the belt! It is the Burberry ruffle leather waist belt shown below in taupe from TheRealReal.com.

On her feet were her bespoke Magrit cut-out pumps based on the 'Estela' model, and she carried her bespoke Magrit clutch bag based on the 'Nassa' model.

To complete her outfit, Letizia selected a pair of black and white diamond teardrop earrings from Swiss jeweler d e Grisogono.

Letizia wears Carolina Herrera gown to her first gala as Queen

On Wednesday evening, King Felipe & Queen Letizia held a gala dinner at the Royal Palace of Madrid in honor of the President of Chile, Michelle Bachelet, who is on an official visit to Spain.

This was the first occasion Their Majesties had presided over a state banquet since becoming sovereign in June this year. For her first gala as Queen, Letizia surprised everyone by choosing a ready-to-wear black gown by Venezuelan designer, Carolina Herrera.

The stunning black mermaid-style gown features a tiered lace which overlays a nude lining. It has a scalloped illusion neckline, finished with short sleeves and a thin grosgrain belt. It retails for US$5999 and is available from Neiman Marcus.

Her Majesty wore the Order of Merit Grand Cross sash (Chile) with a diamond brooch which is actually the centerpiece of the "Princess" tiara.

'Princess' tiara

Many expected Doña Letizia to wear the Fleur de Lys tiara tonight because it is only reserved for reigning Spanish Queen's, however Letizia opted for the Mellerio Floral Tiara, a piece she had donned on many occasions as Princess of Asturias. The tiara is made of diamonds set in gold and silver floral motifs, and is the property of her mother-in-law, Queen Sofia.

Letizia coordinated the headpiece with simple white gold bezel set diamond stud earrings which originate from her Australian pearl earrings. The dangle diamond and pearl section is detachable, leaving behind the stud.

Her hair looked lovely pinned up in a pretty chignon.

Spanish Royals welcome Chilean President

King Felipe and Queen Letizia waited out the front of El Pardo Palace this morning to greet the President of the Republic of Chile, Ms. Michelle Bachelet who is on an official State visit to Spain.

Their Majesties stood alongside the President on the podium during the military honors before making their way into the Palace for formal talks.

Queen Letizia wore a dove grey Felipe Varela set consisting of a pleated knee-length skirt and collarless jacket with a beaded trim along the neckline, placket and cuffs.

Letizia has favored this classic two-piece set on several occasions since it debuted in January 2008 at a lunch for the then president of Yemen, Ali Abdullah Saleh.

Today, Queen Letizia accessorized the suit with new dark grey platform suede pumps from Magrit, a style she owns in several colors and fabrics.

Letizia visits Vienna on her first solo trip abroad as Queen

Letizia of Spain made her first official solo journey abroad since becoming Queen in June this year. She visited Vienna to launch an exhibition at the Kunsthistorisches Museum dedicated to Spanish artist, Diego Velázquez.

Upon arrival in the capital, Queen Letizia was greeted by Austrian President Heinz Fischer and his wife, Margit at the Hofburg Palace.

Dressed in a familiar Felipe Verela tweed skirt suit and white lace top, Letizia looked happy and relaxed as she was welcomed by the President and the First Lady.

Letizia has repeated this tailored outfit on many occasions since its premier in October 2012 for the National Day parade.

Letizia kept her accessories neutral, wearing a new pair of taupe suede Magrit platform pumps, a style she owns in several colors, and her Adolfo Domínguez quilted bag.

For the main event of the trip, Queen Letizia made a wardrobe change, debuting a sleek berry red Hugo Boss lambskin leather sheath dress.

This BOSS 'LE' dress has darts along the front and back for a flattering fit and features quilted shoulders. It retails for US$1195 and is currently available directly from Hugo Boss and other stockists such as Nordstrom and Bloomingdales.

Letizia combined the dress with a new jacket also from the German brand. It is the BOSS Fashion Show 'FS_Jesila' blazer made from the finest quality camel hair in solid black. It has a notched collar and tab belt detail at the waist. It retails for £630.

etizia complimented the deep berry leather dress with tonal accessories, opting for her Magrit "Kares" suede envelope clutch and matching burgundy 'Leonor' pumps, a combination she wore a few weeks ago.

Completing Her Majesty's outfit, were silver drop earrings featuring a ruby stone.

Queen Letizia was the guest of honour at the Kunsthistorisches Museum where she inaugurated the Diego Velázquez exhibition featuring 46 works by the Spanish artist which are usually housed in Madrid's Prado Museum. Some of Velázquez's paintings were commissioned by Felipe IV - an ancestor of the current King Felipe.

King Felipe & Queen Letizia visit award winning village

On the final day of the Prince Asturias Awards, King Felipe & Queen Letizia paid a visit the village of Boal, this year's winner of the Exemplary Town of Asturias Award. Each year, a town in the Asturias region is recognized for making an extraordinary contribution to protect and conserve the environmental, historical or artistic settings of its surroundings, or carried out exceptional community work.

For today's outing, Queen Letizia left the Varela in the closet and sported a more casual look.

She wore a navy/black bomber-style wool jacket (unidentified brand) over a lavender Hugo Boss 'Banora' silk blouse which she also owns in vanilla white. We also see a pair of Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses tucked into her blouse.

Queen Letizia opted for an interesting choice of footwear. She wore black oxford shoes finished with with a subtle green cap-toe.

I'm not certain of the brand and unfortunately I have no clear pictures of the shoes to help identify them, but I came across these green capped oxfords from Amalfi by Ragoni which could be a possibility.

Letizia kept her jewellery discreet, wearing her favorite Chanel 'Comete' diamond star stud earrings.

Prince of Asturias Awards 2014 - Day 2

Don Felipe and Doña Letizia began the day at the Reconquista Hotel in Oviedo, where they received the winners of the "Medals of Asturias 2014". The prizes at the annual award is given out to individuals, groups or institutions from around the world who have made notable achievements in science, cultural and social affairs.

Queen Letizia looked stunning in a recycled Felipe Varela white and black butterfly embroidered dress.

She wore this dress to the abdication service of King Juan Carlos in June, and in April to the Cervantes Award.

Letizia again paired the dress with her sand patent pumps from Spanish shoe maker Magrit.

For today's award ceremony she wore a beautiful pair of pave halo diamond teardrop dangle earrings.

That evening, their Majesties presided over the Prince of Asturias awards ceremony which was held at the Campoamor Theater in Oviedo.They were joined by King Felipe's mother, Queen Sofia.

Once inside the theater, Felipe and Letizia took their places at the head table, while Sofia went to the Royal Box.

Queen Letizia premiered a new Felipe Valera creation at tonight's awards gala. The bespoke dress is rendered in sapphire blue lace mesh with black embroidery. She accessorized the pencil dress with a navy satin clutch bag and Magrit navy suede platform pumps.

Letizia wore her hair up and completed the outfit with exquisite aquamarine teardrop earrings which where a gift from Italian jewelery house Bvlgari following the birth of Letizia's first daughter, Leonor.

Prince of Asturias Awards 2014 - Day 1

The King and Queen of Spain traveled to Asturias to preside over the Prince of Asturias Awards 2014. They arrived in the afternoon to attend the XXIII Musical Week closing concert at the Principe Felipe Auditorium. This will be the last year Their Majesties will oversee the ceremony before handing it over to their oldest daughter, Princess Leonor, which in 2015 will be renamed the Princess of Asturias Awards.

Queen Letizia wore a beautiful Felipe Varela black cocktail dress to the concert. The dress is adorned with a black crystal mesh neckline which extends to the back.

She debuted the cocktail dress last month at a United Nations reception in New York.

Letizia outfitted the dress with a new pair of black cut-out pumps from Magrit which she coordinated with her Magrit 'Nassa' clutch bag.

The styles above are bespoke but based on the Magrit models below.

She wore her hair up which showed off her anew pair of sparkling diamond earrings.

The Prince of Asturias Foundation was incorporated on 24th September 1980 in Oviedo, in a ceremony chaired by Don Felipe, who was then the Prince of Asturias. The primary objectives of the foundation is to consolidate links between the Principality of Asturias and the monarchy, and to promote scientific, cultural and social values. Its main activity is the annual award of the Prince of Asturias Awards, held since 1981 to distinguish the scientific, technical, cultural, and social work performed by individuals, groups or institutions.

Queen Letizia attended the 25th Anniversary Ceremony of the Spanish National Transplant Organization in Madrid. Her Majesty delivered a short speech recognizing the important work of this health organization.

Today, Letizia looked professional in a tailored outfit and opted for her favorite color combination of a navy suit with a pink blouse.

She wore a new ensemble from BOSS Hugo Boss. She has now added the 'Jetala' blazer and matching 'Taru' trouser to her every growing collection of Hugo Boss suits. The jacket and pants are made of a new wool blend with elastane in a mottled pattern. The one-button blazer has a peak lapel and two piped pockets with tucked-down flaps. The blazer and two waist darts in the front and three panel seams in the back for a slim-fit. It retails for £380.

The matching trousers are fastened at the low waist with two hooks, a button and a zip. They feature 2 diagonal slash pockets on the front and 2 piped pockets on the back. They retail for £210.

Letizia recycled her accessorizes, wearing a navy croc belt, navy leather peep-toe heels, and she carried her"Mango Touch" pink leather messenger bag as a clutch.

Queen Letizia wore a striking fuchsia geometric silk print blouse which is reportedly by Carolina Herrera. We are beginning to see Letizia wear more and more from this Venezuelan born designer. Letizia recently wore a gorgeous Carolina Herrera white/black floral dress to a black tie event.

Queen Letizia sparkles again at Journalism awards

Their Majesties, the King and Queen of Spain attended the annual award ceremony of the International Journalism Awards of the newspaper "El Mundo", which took place during a gala dinner commemorating the twenty-fifth anniversary of the newspaper.

Queen Letizia sparkled in a recycled dress by Felipe Varela. She first wore this cocktail number last month to a UN reception hosted by the Obama's in New York. The bespoke dress is rendered in silk and embellished with five different shades of blue Swarovski crystals which creates a tonal gradient effect.

Letizia can't get enough of her Hugo Boss ink blot dress

Fresh from a visit to the Netherlands, Queen Letizia wasted no time getting back to work in Madrid. This morning, Her Majesty presented a speech at the launch event for “Mujeres por el Corazón" (Women for Heart), a campaign aimed at improving women's cardiovascular health in Spain.

Following the campaign launch, Queen Letizia joined her husband King Felipe VI at the headquarters of the Royal Spanish Academy to present the 23rd edition of the Spanish language dictionary.

For both events, the Queen donned her wardrobe favorite, wearing her BOSS Hugo Boss 'Dinoma' Onyx Fantasy dress which has an intriguing ink-blot print.

This is the sixth time Letizia has worn the patterned sheath dress since its debut in October 2013. She wore it as recently as last month to the 'V De Vida' Award Ceremony in San Sebastian.

As in the past, Her Majesty again paired the dress with her Hugo Boss 'Juicy' black jacket. The one-button blazer is a staple of the BOSS Hugo Boss collection and is crafted from premium virgin wool with a hint of stretch for comfort. It has peaked lapels, a single chest welt pocket, and flap pockets at the waist. It is currently on sale at Nordstrom.
