Today, the two Queens of Spain chaired a meeting at Zarzuela Palace of the Media Commission of the Foundation Against Drug Addiction (FAD). Queen Sofia has been honorary president of FAD for nearly 30 years, and today she passed the title to her daughter-in-law, Queen Letizia.
The Spanish Queen's both wore neutral toned outfits. Queen Letizia recycled an outfit she has worn repeatedly since it's debut on Armed Forces Day in June 2012. The boucle linen skirt suit is from Felipe Varela. Both the skirt and jacket feature a tonal lace overlay. Under the blazer she wore her artichoke green silk blouse by Mango.
Queen Letizia accessorized with her Magrit nude patent peep-toe heels and TOUS Ruby and Emerald earrings.
On Thursday, Queen Letizia will preside over the opening of the 2015/2016 Training Courses at Javier García Tellez secondary college in Caceres.

Her Majesty the Queen addressed the audience and spoke of the privilege of serving as Honorary President for the past five years. At the end of the night, Queen Letizia greeted the people of Burgos outside the auditorium.
Tonight, Queen Letizia repeated a Nina Ricci ensemble consisting of red separates and monochrome patterned coat. She first wore the outfit by the French designer during a Sate visit to France.
Tonight, Queen Letizia debuted a new pair of strappy heels from Spanish label Uterque. They are from the Spring/Summer 2015 collection (sold out). The stiletto sandals feature cross-over stripes of black suede leather with a tie front and zip back.
She carried her Cucareliquia 'Archy' handbag and glammed it up with her ruby and diamond dangle earrings which remain unidentified.
With the help of my colleague, Núria Tiburcio from Vanitatis, I have complied a collage of Letizia's previous looks at the V de Vida award ceremony:

Fresh from her tour of the USA, Queen Letizia was back on home soil and back to business. Today she officially declared the opening of the 2015/16 academic year.
She visited the College of Education and Primary "Marqués de Santillana" in Palencia for the ceremonial commencement of the school year and unveiled a commemorative plaque.
This was followed by a tour of the school, during which she visited various classrooms and was given a chance to interact with the pupils.
All the students were given a chance to meet their Queen during recess.
Queen Letizia wore a classic pant/jacket ensemble but with a twist. Her navy trousers had a glittery texture and sparkled in the light.
One of my readers, 'Heaven' quickly identified them from the Hugo Boss Fall/Winter 2015 collection.
Queen Letizia teamed the pants with her Felipe Varela white tweed blazer and cornflower blue Hugo Boss knit pullover.
She accessorized with familiar pieces. They included the Magrit 'Mila' navy leather pumps, Madmacarena blue python snake skin leather clutch and TOUS blue hydrothermal quartz and amber earrings.
Tomorrow, Queen Letizia will join her husband, King Felipe VI for the opening season at the Royal Theatre. Their Majesties will attend the premiere of the opera "Roberto Devereux" Gaetano Donizzeti.

On the final day of Their Majesties visit to the USA, King Felipe and Queen Letizia visited St. Augustine, located in northeast Florida. It is the oldest continuously occupied European-established settlement in the continental United States.
They were there to mark the 450th anniversary of its founding. They began with their tour of the Castillo de San Marcos, which continued through the Lightner Museum.
Once inside, Their Majesties signed the guest book and gifted the city with a painting of Pedro Menéndez de Avilés (founder of St Augustine), made by the Spanish painter Amado González Hevia, "Favila".
They were then escorted to Government House to join the celebration of the 450th anniversary of the city, and from the balcony King Felipe addressed the citizens of St Augustine.
They finished their visit to this historic city with an intimate church service and lunch at Flagler College.
Today, Queen Letizia opted for a look we have seen twice before:
The outfit consists of the Carolina Herrera Flower Fil Coupe Party Skirt (US$2490), a Felipe Varela solid navy silk blouse, Carolina Herrera navy suede strap sandals and Felipe Varela navy flap clutch.
She again wore the TOUS blue hydrothermal quartz and amber earrings with this recycled ensemble.
Letizia protected her eyes from the glare with her Uterque 'Blue-Arm' cats-eye sunglasses.

On her feet were the pewter Carolina Herrera thin strap sandals (Spring 2014 collection) which she debuted on Armed Forces Day in June this year.

On Day 2 of the USA royal visit, The Queen of Spain began her day with a solo engagement. Her Majesty visited the National Cancer Institute in the Clinical Hospital of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). After touring the research laboratories, Letizia held a meeting with the directors of the NIH.
Letizia kept her sartorial choice professional yet feminine and opted for a familiar Hugo Boss ensemble.
This floral print dress has become one of her signature styles since it's debut in June 2014:
To refresh your memories, the dress is the Hugo Boss 'Dinoma' sheath, rendered in the 'rose fantasy' floral colourway. It was from the BOSS 2014 spring/summer collection and retailed for €479/US$650.
For today's event, Letizia topped the dress with her white Hugo Boss 'Jeisana' blazer which features a peplum hem and collarless neckline.
Completing the outfit were her TOUS cultured freshwater pearl drop earrings, Magrit blush patent clutch and peep-toe heels.

This afternoon, the King and Queen attended the presentation of the First Meeting of Spanish scientists in the United States at the University of Georgetown, ending with a dinner hosted by the academic institution in their honor.
Queen Letizia looked stunning in a black illusion cocktail dress from Felipe Varela. It features a strapless satin layer with an embroidery tulle overlay.
On her feet were the Prada black Saffiano print patent leather pointy toe pumps and she carried a Felipe Varela black suede flap clutch (which she also owns in navy).
Queen Letizia had her hair pinned in a beautiful chignon which revealed long gold earrings. To my surprise they are from fast fashion label, Mango! These waterfall chain earrings will only set you back US$19.99 (Mango USA) or £9.99 on the Mango UK site.

The King and Queen of Spain landed in Washington DC today and commenced their whirlwind four-day visit to the USA which will include visits to Washington DC, Miami and St Augustine in Florida.
Today also marked Queen Letizia's 43rd birthday, but it was business as usual for the Spanish Queen as she joined her husband, King Felipe VI on a tour of Mount Vernon, the estate of America's first president, George Washington. Their Majesties laid a wreath at the tomb of George and Martha Washington before touring the grounds and meeting with volunteers of the historic site.
Queen Letizia stepped out in an elegant monochromatic ensemble from her Spanish designer of choice, Felipe Varela. She wore a black and white floral dress from Varela's Pre-Fall 2015/16 collection and teamed it with a bespoke white blazer.
Letizia accessorized her refined outfit with a sophisticated handbag from Hugo Boss. The silhouette of the BOSS 'Bespoke T. Handle S' bag is reminiscent of 1950's, and it worked perfectly with her classic ensemble.
On her feet were the Prada black Saffiano print patent leather pointy toe pumps which have quickly become her favorite since their debut in April.
We also saw the return of another favorite, her TOUS cultured freshwater pearl drop earrings. Queen Letzia completed her chic retro style with her Uterque 'Blue-Arm' cats-eye sunglasses.

King Felipe and Queen Letizia were then invited to the White House by President Obama and First Lady, Michelle Obama.
The King and President Obama held a meeting in the Oval Office of the White House; while, Queen Letizia and the First Lady, had afternoon tea in the private residence of the White House.
Mrs Obama was keen to show Her Majesty the White House Kitchen Garden, part of the First Lady's health program "Let's Move!". This initiative is close to Letizia's own interest, in her role as the UN Special Ambassador for Nutrition.
The royal couple's first day in the American capitol concluded with a formal reception hosted by high profile Spanish expats living in Washington DC. Prior to the reception, their Majesties held a meeting with the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Senate in the Capitol building.
For the occasion, Queen Letizia premiered a navy blue Nina Ricci sequin separates outfit. It is reminiscent of this off-the-rack piece from the French designer's Spring 2015 collection. The navy bouclé tweed halter top is embellished with sequins and features a Peter Pan collar, two patch side pockets and a grosgrain-faced snap closure at front.
The set has a resemblance to the Nina Ricci red separates she wore in Mexico:
Letizia opted for tonal accessories, coordinating her Felipe Varela navy suede flap clutch with a new pair of navy patent Magrit peep-toe heels (which she also owns in nude patent).
Complimenting Letizia's dazzling style were her Yanes diamond and white gold chandelier earrings.
Tonight, Queen Letizia wore her hair in a soft up-do.
