Feliz Navidad and Happy New Year!
For her final public engagement of 2016, the Queen of Spain attended a meeting with the Foundation Against Drug Addiction (FAD). You may recall that Her Majesty became honorary president of FAD in September last year, taking on the role from Queen Sofia who served as patron for nearly 30 years.
Queen Letizia arrived at the charity's headquarters in Madrid dressed in her warm black wool coat by Burberry which dates back to 2010.
Once inside the Banco Santander building, Queen Letizia took off her coat to reveal a mix and match of familiar pieces in her favorite burgundy hue.
The outfit consists of her recently released bouclé peplum top (whose signature is still unknown), and Hugo Boss 'Valessima' pencil skirt.
Letizia typically wears the skirt as part of suit set and this was the first occasion she had worn it separately.
She coordinated the outfit with her marsala red ACOSTA leather clutch and a new pair of burgundy suede pumps.
The pointed-toe court shoes are by Spanish brand, Uterque (€79.00). Thanks to Patrícia for the ID!
The caprine leather pumps have a suede finish and feature a curvaceous heel.
Their Majesties are expected to resume their royal duties in the first week of the new year when they preside over the traditional celebration of the Pascua Militar on 6th January 2017.
Feliz Navidad and Happy New Year!

On Friday Queen Letizia attended a board meeting with the UNICEF Spanish Committee Foundation. As honorary president of the Foundation, Her Majesty was informed of the organisation's priorities and its strategic plan to continue to achieve results for the most vulnerable children worldwide.
The Queen was snapped arriving at the charity's headquarters in Madrid. She warded off the bad weather in her Carolina Herrera trench coat.
Queen Letizia came ready for business wearing one of her signature Hugo Boss pant suits. She offset the ensemble with a new pretty white blouse which featured a pleated centre and flanked by a tonal embroidered pattern. The origin of the piece is unknown.
Letizia complemented the classic business style with her masculine Hugo Boss 'Norrmalm' business bag and Uterque 'Fabric' High Heel shoes.
She added a touch of femininity with her TOUS cultured freshwater pearl drop earrings.

Following last night's glittering gala, it was back to business for the King and Queen of Spain as they welcomed the board members of the Princess of Girona Foundation to the Royal Palace of Madrid for their annual meeting.
The board meeting summarized the activities carried out by the Foundation during the course
of the year and outlined the action plan and budget for 2017.
Queen Letizia opted for this season's latest trend, wearing a burgundy velvet blazer by Felipe Varela.
While velvet has been the biggest fashion trend of 2016, Letizia's seasonal jacket is not new. The velvet blazer was first worn in 2008 for a visit to Berlin and again in 2009 to welcome the President of Lebanon at Zarzuela Palace. It just goes to show that if you keep something long enough, it'll come back in fashion!
Letizia coordinated the blazer with her burgundy Hugo Boss textured short sleeve knit top and grey Carolina Herrera wide-leg cuffed trousers. Her accessories were also familiar. She teamed the outfit with her Uterque Fabric High Heel Shoes and marsala red ACOSTA leather clutch.
She topped off the look with her ruby cabochon dangle earrings.

The King and Queen of Spain attended the annual 'Mariano de Cavia', 'Luca de Tena' and 'Mingote' Journalism Awards gala dinner this evening hosted by Spain's national newspaper, ABC.
Queen Letizia stepped out for the black-tie event in a disco-inspired lamé dress by Nina Ricci.
The sequined striped midi dress is from the French designer's Resort 2017 collection.
Made in France, the fitted midi dress is a juxtapose of multicolor textured, metallic, and sequined stripes. The crew neckline and long sleeves offer full front coverage whilst the back and elbows feature cutouts. The dress retails for US$2,690 and is currently available at luisaviaroma.com and Bergdorf Goodman.
She accessorised with her black patent LODI straight-vamp pumps and her Burberry studded clutch bag.
Queen Letizia offset the look with a sophisticated slicked back hair style and her Laura Marquez 'Linear' white gold earrings.
Here we show them in yellow gold from the the Laura Marquez website (€419).
We conclude with a retrospective look at Letizia's past outfits for this black-tie awards gala.

The King and Queen of Spain kick-started their working week with a visit to Grupo Zeta on the occasion of the media group's 40th anniversary.
Queen Letizia arrived at the Madrid headquarters draped in a new stone coloured coat. The double-face wool coat is designed with a contrasting ivory underside which extends to the notched collar. It also has a self-belt but Letizia chose to wear it open. The origin of the coat is unknown but I suspect it may be by Carolina Herrera because the double-face design is similar to the pearl grey coat she recently debuted from the designer.
For the tour of the offices, Queen Letizia took off the coat to reveal a familiar look.
The combination consists of her Hugo Boss BOSS 'Bajula' silk blouse and Uterque Zipped Nappa Culottes.
The culottes have become a staple part of her look this year, and Letizia has styled them differently each time.
Queen Letizia highlighted the outfit with rich burgundy accessories. She carried a new clutch by La Portegna. This is the first piece for Letizia from the Spanish brand and she debuted their 'Barbara' Python Clutch (£400). The clutch is made with 100% authentic certified python leather. The simple design is enhanced with a golden matte brass metal bar across the front flap.
La Portegna is a small heritage brand based in a small village in Spain's Cádiz province, which is famed for their craftsmanship in leather goods. Below we show the brand's stock photo of the 'Barbara' clutch in black.
Queen Letizia coordinated the clutch with a new pair of burgundy velvet-covered pumps from LODI, wearing their 'Sarin' model (sold out).
She offset the look with her Coolook 'Nereida' earrings.
Her Majesty took a playful approach toward her hair today opting for two loose plaits which she tied back.

King Felipe and Queen Letizia were in San Sebastian today to attend the Gold Medals of Merit in Fine Arts ceremony at the Victoria Eugenia Theatre.
Their Majesties delivered the awards which serve to recognize individuals and organizations that have made a significant contribution to the education, development, dissemination or preservation of the Fine Arts.
Queen Letizia combined a few old favoutites with a new black Hugo Boss 'Sepai' leather skirt (£370). This A-line skirt by BOSS comes in soft, finely grained leather. Its has front seam and 2 side slash pockets. The skirt is also avaialble at House of Fraser.
She contrasted the leather skirt with a new pair of red snakeskin D'Orsay heels by Magrit. The are a bespoke version of the brand's 'Alicia' model.
She coordinated the look with her red Carolina Herrera crosshatch houndstooth blouse and BOSS Fashion Show 'FS_Jesila' blazer.
Letizia accessorised the outfit with her Hugo Boss 'Bespoke' top handle bag and Chanel 'Plume' earrings.
QUEEN LETIZIA STYLE INSPIRATION ...
Following a three-day State visit to Portugal with King Felipe, Queen Letizia jetted off to Rome on Friday for a United Nations conference on food and nutrition.
Her Majesty was in the Italian capital to attend the International Symposium on Sustainable Food Systems for Healthy Diets and Improved Nutrition at the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) headquarters.
You may recall in June last year, Queen Letizia was appointed Special Ambassador of the FAO for Nutrition following her work campaigning hunger and malnutrition across the world. As a Special Ambassador, she raises awareness of global hunger, food insecurity and malnutrition, and helps foster global support to help the problem.
For today's meeting, Queen Letizia recycled her well worn mod-style Felipe Varela outfit.
The ensemble consists of a white wool shift dress with black leather trim and a black top coat.
The très chic outfit is a favourite of the Queen's, and she has now donned the look on ten occasions since its debut in November 2011. Coincidently, she last wore the outfit exactly a year ago to the Gold Medals of Merit in Fine Arts ceremony.
Other familar peices included her black Magrit 'Mila' patent leather pumps and TOUS moonstone drop earrings which she also debuted one year ago to the day.
Letizia wore long black gloves and carried a new 'Kelly' style bag which is currently unidentified.
ID UPDATE (3 July 2020): I came across this Giorgio Armani top handle bag from the designer's Fall 2016 ready-to-wear collection which appears to match Letizia's handbag (bar the red leather lining)!
The silhouette also came in an olive hue and an embossed crocodile pattern.
