Today, Queen Letizia chaired the opening of the 1st International Symposium on Cancers of the Skin. The forum serves to present the latest advances and new therapies for the prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of different types of skin cancer. Letizia donned her trusty Felipe Varela grey pencil dress, a piece she has worn on several occasions since she premiered it in October 2010. The wool sheath dress features an asymmetrical ruffle trim. Queen Letizia debuted a new black floral applique clutch from Uterque. The clutch is made of cowhide and the front features a set of hand-sewn leather flowers. It was from the Autumn/Winter 2014/15 collection but has since sold out. Queen Letizia also owns a similar version of this bag in red which she debuted in November last year on her solo visit to Portugal. She cordinated the dress with her bespoke Magrit charcoal suede platform pumps and wore her Links of London 'Hope Egg' white topaz earrings (£275). Despite her status and access to high fashion, Queen Letizia has again proved that she is not afraid to recycle an outfit over and over. In the age of austerity, Queen Letizia leads by example. Today, Their Majesties attended two events. They first received a representation of those attending the "1st International Symposium on Cancers of the Skin" forum, which will be opened by Doña Letizia tomorrow. The symposium will present the latest advances and new therapies for the prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of different types of skin cancer.
In the evening they presided over the 25th anniversary celebrations of Antena 3, which is a Spanish terrestrial television channel.
Queen Letizia looked beautiful in a slim fitting black tuxedo from Hugo Boss.
The tuxedo consists of the BOSS 'Jawona' wool blend blazer (£450) paired with the BOSS 'Tawona' tuxedo-stripe pants (£270).
Letizia also debuted a new pair of killer heels. She wore the Lodi 'Sara' burgundy/black pumps. The patent shoes feature an ombre effect and have a 10.5 cm heel with a 0.5 cm concealed platform. This is the second time in a matter of weeks that Letiiza has worn a pair of shoes by the Spanish footwear manufacturer, Lodi. She debuted the Lodi 'Debra' pumps at the National Research Awards on 15th Jan this year.
She carried a small clutch bag with a rhinestone embellishment and lasso closure.
ID UPDATE (5/04/2016):
One of my blog readers has successfully identified the clutch! It is from luxury Italian brand, Tod's. The black satin clutch has a lizard trim with a jeweled toggle button closure.
Letizia complemented her chic outfit with cherry red lips, a chignon up-do and a dazzling pair of white gold diamond chandelier earrings which she has worn many times in the past.
Only the Queen of Spain can make a menswear inspired tuxedo look this glamorous! With the right accessories, hair and make-up, Letizia shows us how it should be done!

Today, King Felipe and Queen Letizia opened the 35th edition of the International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR) in Madrid. The 5 day event will bring together more than 9,000 companies from 165 countries with 200,000 visitors. The royal couple toured the halls and met with some of the many exhibitors of the fair. Queen Letizia dressed appropriately for the business fair, recycling a tailored Hugo Boss wool pant suit she wore to the same event in 2012. Today, Queen Letizia styled the suit with a new buttoned up silk shirt under her blazer. The shirt is the Hugo Boss 'Bedina' silk-blend blouse (£220). The long-sleeve blouse by BOSS has a Kent collar with stylish pintucks and silk trim on the concealed button placket. The 1-button cuff features a sleeve placket. Today Letizia spent many hours on her feet, so it was a wise decision on her part to opt for a pair of comfortable flat oxford shoes. Letizia accessorized with simple gold star stud earrings which I don't recall seeing previously. Here is a photo gallery of Letizia at previous FITUR openings. SHOP QUEEN LETIZIA'S STYLE FOR LESS ...
The Queen of Spain met with the board of directors of the Spanish Federation of Rare Diseases (FEDER) today to prepare the organisation's 2015 agenda.
Her Majesty arrived at the Madrid headquarters of FEDER looking chic in an understated professional style.
The outfit is a repeat of the one she debuted in February last year when she toured the Labour University of Albacete (shown below).
The ensemble consists of a short Burberry red wool peacoat and Hugo Boss grey trousers.
It was originally thought the coat was by Spanish label Uterque, but we can clearly see the Burberry logo embossed on the buttons.
Today, Letizia showed off a new bag. This past month she has been seen carrying a men's Hugo Boss briefcase, but today she opted for the more feminine style of the Hugo Boss 'Medi-F' business bag (£430).
The black kernel grain leather bag offers a roomy main compartment which can be securely fastened with a 2-way zip. This bag is also equipped with useful smaller compartments. The exterior features double rolled handle and a front slip pocket compartment.
Letizia wore her Links of London Hope Egg white topaz earrings (€345).
On Thursday, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia traveled to the far north of Spain to visit the private pontifical university of Navarra. The campus is based in the city of Pamplona which is famous for the annual running of bulls festival. They were there to officially open the Museum, a new study center for the visual and performing arts. It also houses an art collection donated to the University by María Josefa Huarte Beaumont. This collection, considered as one of the greatest regarding contemporary Art of Spain, includes works of Pablo Picasso and Wassily Kandinsky, among other authors. Their Majesties were given a tour of the new facilitates before inaugurating the Museum. Letizia arrived wearing a black coat which she took off when she entered the Museum. Under the coat she wore her Mango burgundy bouclé jacket, a piece she has owned for many years. The boucle jacket has metal threads, longs sleeves, round neck, four patch pockets at front, frayed trims and concealed snap button fastenings Boucle jacket with metal threads, longs sleeves, round neck, four patch pockets at front, frayed trims and concealed snap button fastenings. She paired the jacket with a classic pair of black trousers and her black ankle boots. She added some interest to the outfit by accessorizing with her Uterque floral clutch (€99) which she debuted in November last year during a solo visit to Portugal. Unfortunately there are no high resolution photos from today's event so I can't clearly define which earrings she is wearing, but they look like they may be her semi-precious ruby cabochon earrings as shown in this photo below. Queen Letizia has a jam packed schedule next week. Her week will begin with a board meeting with the Spanish Federation of Rare Diseases. Mid week she will inaugurate a tourism fair and and she will conclude with the week by attending the opening ceremony of the "1st International Symposium on Cancers of the Skin. Their Majesties received and welcomed the new foreign ambassadors to Spain. At this year's gala reception, Queen Letizia showed signs of austerity by recycling the outfit she wore to the same function in 2012. The Felipe Varela dress consists of a black sequined shirt style top and maxi length crepe skirt, paired with a black suede wide belt. Her Majesty accessorized the dress with Magrit black suede platform pumps. Letizia wore her hair in a beautiful up-do which showed her black star-burst drop earrings with diamond hoops. The Queen of Spain began her working week in a workshop with the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC). She was photographed making her way to the headquarters of the AECC in Madrid.
As Honorary President of the association, Queen Letizia's role is to bring public attention to the subject of cancer research, and campaign for more resources into the research field, while also improving the conditions for cancer patients and their relatives during treatment. Today’s agenda was to talk through the preparations for the upcoming “Cancer Day”, which takes place every year on February 4th to shed light on the fight against cancer.
Letizia arrived at the headquarters wearing a red wool wrap coat.
This has been a staple in her closet for many years but there is still mixed opinion whether this coat is by Felipe Varela or Hugo Boss. My hunch is Hugo Boss based on this image of this fashion blogger who listed her coat as Hugo Boss. The cut, pockets and seams are a good match for Letizia's coat.
Nonetheless, Her majesty is a loyal fan of this wrap-style silhouette, owning it in several colors and from a variety of designers.
Today she kept warm with a new patterned scarf yet to be identified.
She also debuted a new pair of gold circle stud earrings.
ID UPDATE (Oct 2018):
One of our readers Mary suggests the earrings could be by Ansorena, a jeweler closely linked to the Spanish Royal House. You may recall, Ansorena was commissioned to make the "Princess" Fleur de Lys tiara by Felipe in 2009 for Letizia on the occasion of their 5th wedding anniversary. The style below are the the Ansorena Ars Design Rose Gold earrings (€1,450).
Familiar accessories included her black leather platform booties and Hugo Boss 'Norrmalm' business bag, first seen last month at the AECC headquarters.
In the board room, Queen Letizia took off her coat to reveal her Hugo Boss 'Jetala' navy blazer and matching 'Taru' trouser. Under her jacket was a navy blue and white striped blouse, which is new in her closet.
Below are stock images of the pant suit in grey.
This was another perfect executive ensemble from Letizia. Even though much of her outfit has been recycled, she kept it fresh with a few new pieces.

Today, Queen Letizia joined her husband King Felipe at the Royal Palace of Madrid to deliver the National Research Awards. Each year they are granted to distinguished innovators in the fields of medicine, biology, engineering, social sciences and humanities. Queen Letizia recycled a Felipe Varela separates outfit. It consists of a red jacket with scallop edges and a matching pencil skirt. The vibrant red skirt suit was first worn by Letizia in December 2009. Today, Letizia debuted a new pair of bordeaux patent pumps. They were identified as the Lodi 'Debra' style (€99). These killer heels have a scalloped trim and pointed toe. Lodi is a Spanish footwear brand which prides itself on its commitment to "Made in Spain" manufacturing. We saw the return of her dazzling ruby and diamond dangle earrings. The most surprising aspect of Letizia's outfit was a yellow band bracelet inscribed with the word ARHOE, referring to the National Commission for the Rationalization of Spanish Working Hours which aims to improve the work/life balance for Spaniards. Coincidentally, Their Majesties received members of ARHOE in audience last week. During the event held at the Palacio de la Zarzuela , representatives of ARHOE must have gifted the Queen with a bracelet to promote their cause. SHOP QUEEN LETIZIA'S STYLE FOR LESS ...
Queen Letizia presided over the third edition of the "Telefónica Ability Awards". The awards recognize companies and organizations that develop business models to help integrate disabled people into the work force or supply chain.
In her speech, the Queen stressed that "Disability is not a problem. It's a reality that requires a joint effort of all. It is a reality that puts up a mirror. Putting people with disabilities in the production chain is the best expression of who we are as a society, as a country".
Tonight, Doña Letizia looked elegant in a chic new black and white ensemble. Her top has been identified as the Hugo Boss BOSS 'Bajula' silk blouse. The draping silk shirt features a tonal woven dot pattern, band collar and concealed placket. It originally retailed for £210 but is now on sale for £95 from Hugo Boss UK and House of Fraser.
Letizia contrasted the white blouse with a black high-waist full circle skirt. Currently there is no information about the designer of the skirt but it is also believed to be by Hugo Boss.
Doña Letizia also debuted a new black Hugo Boss clutch bag. The purple hue in the image below is a reflection of the lighting in the arena.
The 'Erica-V' clutch bag is from the BOSS Black collection. It is made from patent cowhide and the edge is finished in a goldtone metal with an embossed logo. It comes with a link chain hand strap.
On her feet where the Magrit perforated black suede pumps. These are a bespoke version of the Magrit 'Estela' heels. These were first worn by Letizia in late October 2014 at the Prince of Asturias Awards 2014.
Tonight we also saw the return of the stunning de Grisogono black diamond teardrop earrings.

Today, the King and Queen of Spain received in audience various organizations at the Palace of Zarzuela. They first met with the National Commission for the Rationalization of Spanish Working Hours which aims to improve the work/life balance for Spaniards. The royal couple has supported the organisation for a number of years. Their Majesties then received members of the Spanish Rectors Conference (CRUE). CRUE was founded in 1994 as a nonprofit association formed by a total of 76 Spanish universities. It plays a key role in all regulatory developments affecting higher education in Spain. For today's audiences, Queen Letizia opted to wear a recycled outfit, consisting of her Uterqüe multi-coloured tweed jacket, black straight leg trouser pants and a fuchsia pink blouse. The jacket is trimmed with black leather details. The Uterqüe jacket comes with a matching skirt which Letizia also owns. Letizia has repeatedly worn this ensemble with subtle variations since February 2012. Can you spot the differences? :) Credit to the Facebook page 'Doña Letizia, la Reina de España' for compiling the photo gallery below. Today, Letizia modified the outfit by wearing her Carolina Herrera black patent and suede pumps which are a recent addition to her closet.
