The exhibition at the Royal Palace contains portraits of women from the House of Austria in two Royal Monasteries in Madrid; The Monasterio de las Descalzas Reales, built in the 16th century, where Franciscan nuns resided, and the Monasterio de la Encarnacion, built in the 17th century, inhabited by Augustinian nuns. The exhibition highlights the way in which the palace and religious aspects are linked and the strong relations with the Austrian Empire.
