Queen Letizia brings back trendy outfit for day of engagements

Queen Letizia had a busy day of engagements on Friday. She first attended the #Femtástica project at Espacio Harley Ventas in Madrid which is an initiative by the Foundation Against Drug Addiction (FAD) and Samsung.

It aims to make female talent in the current digital landscape more visible and give a voice to women leaders in areas where there has traditionally been a gender gap.

Later in the day, Her Majesty joined King Felipe for a visit to Arganda Del Rey, which was one of the most affected areas in Madrid to have suffered from flooding on the 26th August and again almost three weeks later.

Together they were informed of the recovery effort and met with representatives of bodies who had assisted during the storm and helped with the clean up.

Later they showed solidarity with the crowd and viewed damage from the effects of the flooding.

The King and Queen of Spain traveled to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria today to attend a meeting with government officials following the recent fires in the area.

Gran Canaria is one of Spain’s Canary Islands, off northwestern Africa, and Their Majesties were informed of the deployment and the means used during the wildfires in August.

Later they visited the Tejeda - Valleseco area, where they viewed the effects of the damage caused by the disaster, showing solidarity with the crowds who had gathered to meet them.

The King and Queen of Spain attended the opening season at the Teatro Real (Royal Theatre) in Madrid this evening with the premiere of the grand opera "Don Carlo" by Giuseppe Verdi.

This is the first occasion we have seen Queen Letizia step out in a piece by the Madrid based designer.

The style is the 'Carli' dress (€280) from the Spring/Summer 2019 collection. It is made from 100% polyester and features tuxedo style lapels with a relaxed wrapover waist and gold metal buttons at the cuffs. The design is offered in a range of seasonal colours.

The black velvet chevron clutch is by Giorgio Armani. It has a flap front with Armani's signature plexiglass closure. The piece is from the designer's 2018 collection and retailed for US$2,395.

The Queen of Spain marked the start of the school year today with a visit to the “Batalla de Pavía” school in Torrejoncillo (Cáceres).

The King and Queen of Spain were in Seville on Thursday to preside over the III Plenary meeting of the National Commission for the commemoration of the V Centenary of the first circumnavigation around the Earth by explorers Fernando de Magallanes (Portuguese) and Juan Sebastián Elcano (Spanish).
