The Queen of Spain traveled to the town of her summer residence, Palma de Mallorca to preside over the National Volunteering Conference held at the University of the Balearic Islands. The annual conference is aimed at raising the profile of volunteers and encouraging more people to sign up and help out with charity projects across Spain. Queen Letizia presented a series of awards and made a brief speech. Unlike her summer visits the the island, today Queen Letizia was greeted by grey skies and opted for a dress to match the weather. Letizia wore her Felipe Varela charcoal grey sheath dress, which has been a staple in her closet since October 2010. She cordinated the dress with her bespoke Magrit charcoal suede platform pumps and Malababa grey croc embossed cowhide clutch which she premiered in January 2012. As usual, she kept her jewellery simple, wearing her Links of London 'Hope Egg' white topaz earrings (£275). Links of London is currently offering 20% OFF storewide in the UK and USA. On Monday, Don Felipe and Doña Letizia presided over the ceremony commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) at their headquarters in Madrid.
Queen Letizia opted for a chic professional look, debuting a Mango floral print blouse and a red blazer reportedly by the same label (this information have been unverified).
The top is from the current Mango Autumn/Winter 2014 collection. The white flowy blouse has a black and red floral print and features a round neck, keyhole detail at back and short sleeves. It is currently available for US$59.99 from Mango online and Amazon.
Many bloggers have stated the blazer is also by Mango but that always seemed unlikely to me because I have never found a stock photo from their collection. The silhouette and tailoring of the jacket is reminiscent of Felipe Varela and the style is very similar to other 3-button blazers she has from the Spanish designer. Below is an example of jackets from Felipe Varela's current collection which show a similar silhouette to Letizia's red blazer. I suspect it is a bespoke piece.
Letizia also premiered new shoes, wearing Carolina Herrera black patent and suede pumps from the Fall-Winter 2014 collection.
She coordinated the outfit with her Tissa Fontaneda red nappa bubble 'Flavia' clutch which she debuted last month at a Red Cross fundraiser.
Today we saw the return of her ruby drop earrings.
The next engagement for Queen Letizia will be on Thursday 27th November, where she will travel to Palma de Mallorca to preside over the opening of the XVII National Conference on Volunteering held at the University of the Balearic Islands.

This high level ministerial conference aims to develop a flexible regulatory framework to adequately address the major challenges of nutrition in the coming decades, and to determine priorities for international cooperation in the field of nutrition in the short and medium term. Queen Letizia addressed the delegates and delivered a well received speech, one of the most celebrated of the conference. Letizia again proved why she is one of the most admired and respected women of our time. Queen Letizia also held a meeting with the management staff of the World Health Organisation (WHO). For today's important meetings, Queen Letizia turned to her designer of choice, Felipe Varela. She wore a bespoke poppy red sheath dress. The form fitting dress is rendered in bouclé wool with crepe bodice paneling. Letizia accessorized with her red leather pumps and Magrit blush patent clutch bag. She wore her hair in a tousled up-do which revealed new dangle earring from TOUS. What's usual about these TOUS 'Beethoven' earrings is that the pair are different colours. They are made from 18kt yellow gold and feature emerald, chrysoprase, green tourmaline, turquoise, ruby, opal and pink quartz stones. SHOP QUEEN LETIZIA'S STYLE FOR LESS ... The Queen of Spain kick-started her working week by attending the annual Velázquez Visual Arts Prize held at Prado Museum in Madrid. The prize was established in 2002 and gives institutional recognition to a creator whose work stands out and holds special significance in the field of plastic arts. The winner's commendable work is thus rewarded with a prize which aims to highlight his or her outstanding contribution to Spanish and Latin American culture through all of their work. This year, Queen Letizia presented the award to artist Jaume Plensa for "the coherence of a career in which he has thoroughly reinvented the plastic language of sculpture, integrating poetry and conceptualization in designs of great aesthetic intensity." For today's event, Doña Letizia made a surprising wardrobe choice, deviating from her usual designers and opting for a charcoal separates outfit from French designer Nina Ricci. The set is crafted in pure wool and is part of the fall-winter 2013 collection. The scuba style jacket features a collarless neckline with snap button front and folded seams at the shoulders. It is finished with a peplum hem. It retails for £1,375. Letizia coordinated the jacket with the matching scuba wool pencil skirt (£775). On her feet were her charcoal suede Magrit platform pumps. Her Majesty added some interest to her dark wool ensemble with a beige Malababa 'Minihontas' bag featuring a large genuine agate centerpiece (€280). The handbag is crafted from lambskin leather and has a relaxed puckered structure. Letizia finished the look with her bespoke TOUS three tier drop earrings feature ruby, emerald and moonstone, set in 18kt yellow gold. Today, King Felipe and Queen Letizia attended a funeral held for the 14 individuals who died over the weekend in the worst coach crash in Spain for over a decade. More than two thousand people attended the service for the bus crash victims who were killed after their coach fell 15 meters down an embankment in the Murcia region. The royal couple comforted and embraced grieving family members. Their Majesties also thanked the emergency staff who were on the scene of the tragic accident. Out of respect, I will not be commenting on what Queen Letizia wore. My thoughts are with the families of the victims.
Today, Queen Letizia made a solo visit to the neighboring country of Portugal. This is her second trip to the Portuguese Republic since becoming Queen in June this year. In July she accompanied her husband King Felipe on a state visit to Portugal. Today, Her Majesty visited "Casa dos Marcos", a care center for people with rare diseases and their families. She also meet with representatives of the Latin American Alliance for Rare Diseases before the close of the Second Latin American Congress on Rare Diseases where she delivered a speech.
Following the congress meeting, Queen Letizia visited the exhibit "A Shared History. Treasures of the Royal Palaces of Spain" which is on display in the temporary exhibition of the Museu Calouste Gulbenkian. The exhibition shows the relations between Spain and Portugal, as well as those of their rulers over the last 350 years.
For her solo trip abroad, Queen Letizia recycled a crimson red Felipe Varela skirt suit, first debuted in December 2008.
She coordinated the suit with her Uterqüe animal print chiffon blouse.
Letizia accessorized with her red leather Magrit platform pumps and a new floral applique bag from Uterqüe. The clutch is made of cowhide and the front features a set of hand-sewn leather flowers. It's currently available for €99.
Letizia completed the outfit with her semi-precious ruby cabochon earrings.
