King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia were joined by the President of Peru, who is in Spain on a State visit, for the official opening of the 38th ARCO International Contemporary Art Fair in Madrid. ​​

The event attracts collectors, curators, museum directors, gallery owners, artists and professionals from all around the world, which makes the show a unique and unmissable event on the international art calendar.  Peru was the guest country of this year's Fair.

This evening the Peruvian President and his wife reciprocated last night's gala dinner by hosting a reception at the Royal Palace of El Pardo.

King Felipe VI & Queen Letizia welcomed the President of Peru, Martín Alberto Vizcarra Cornejo and First Lady Maribel Díaz Cabello on the commencement of their two day State visit to Spain.  

​The Peruvian dignitaries are in Spain to attend the 38th edition of International Contemporary Art Fair - ARCOmadrid where Peru is the guest country.

The official ceremony was held at the Royal Palace of Madrid which included the playing of each country's national anthem and a Royal Guard parade. ​

On Wednesday evening, King Felipe VI & Queen Letizia held a gala dinner in honour of the President of Peru and First Lady, who are on a State visit to Spain. This followed on from the official welcome and luncheon held earlier in the day.

Queen Letizia resembled a fairytale princess in a voluminous Felipe Varela tulle gown which she first wore in 2011 for the pre-wedding dinner on the eve of Prince William's wedding to Kate Middleton.

Tonight, Queen Letizia complemented her regal style with the Mellerio Floral Tiara, a piece she has donned on many occasions, and was arguably her favorite when she was the Princess of Asturias.

The tiara is made of diamonds set in gold and silver floral motifs, and is the property of her mother-in-law, Queen Sofia. She also wore her "wedding" earrings - a gift from her parents-in-law, and "joyas de pasar" diamond bracelet.

​During the closing session of the congress, King Felipe was presented with the World Peace & Liberty Award by the World Jurist Association (WJA).

Queen Letizia looked on proudly as he husband received the award for his unwavering commitment to the Rule of Law, his role as a leader in the defense of Democracy and Liberty at the international level and his contributions to the strengthening of the constitutional model in Spain.

For the final engagement of the State Visit to Morocco, King Felipe and Queen Letizia attended a reception held for the Spanish community at National Library in Rabat.

Queen Letizia revives engagement suit in Morocco

King Felipe and Queen Letizia continued their two-day tour of Morocco, and began their final day with a visit to the Mausoleum of King Mohammed V in Rabat.

Queen Letizia again dressed in an elegant white trouser suit, and covered her head with a scarf following local Islamic protocol.

Following the visit to the Mausoleum, Queen Letizia went solo and joined Princess Lalla Meryem of Morocco for a tour of the “Escuela de la Segunda Oportunidad” center, a circus school giving underprivileged children and young people a second chance.

The King and Queen of Spain then reunited at the residence of the Embassy of Spain to receive in audience a representation of Moroccan literary artists with work published in Spanish.
