Queen Letizia had a busy schedule this morning, hosting a number of audiences at Zarzuela Palace.
For the occasion, Her Majesty repeated the bespoke Felipe Varela tweed dress she debuted on a recent visit to France which was cut short due to the tragic Germanwings accident:
The Queen first meet with the Board of the Royal Association of Friends of the Reina Sofia Museum.
This was followed by an audience with the executive leaders of the Hispania Nostra association.
Finally, Queen Letizia delivered the Tomás Francisco Prieto Prize and diplomas to students from the III Promotion of Media Masters in Graphic Print, Illustration and Artistic Coinage.
Later, Queen Letizia joined her husband King Felipe to welcome the Egyptian president, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. This was followed by a luncheon in honour of the visiting president.
Today, Letizia accessorized the patterned tweed dress in the same way she did in France, with her Felipe Varela ocean blue leather clutch featuring Swarovski crystals, and Magrit beige patent pumps.
Queen Letizia debuted yet another new pair of earring, her fourth for the month. According to my friends at Spanish magazine, Vanitatis the earrings are from TOUS. The three-tier earrings are made from blue hydrothermal quartz and amber.
I also want to make a brief mention that Their Majesties were seen arriving at their children's school yesterday to attend Princess Leonor's First Confession ahead of her upcoming First Communion.
Letizia was wearing a white cardigan with a floral motif and cat-eye sunglasses.

Letizia, the present Queen of Spain joined her mother-in-law, Queen Sofia at El Pardo Palace to deliver the Reina Sofia 2014 Awards of the Royal Board on Disability. This is the first occasion the royal pair have co-chaired an institutional act since the proclamation of King Felipe VI in June last year.
Today marked the final edition of the ‘Reina Sofia Awards’ and henceforth the award will be referred to as the ‘Queen Letizia Award’.
The wife and mother of King Felipe VI have always had a genuine respect for one another and that was evident again today. Not only did the two Spanish Queens seem to enjoy each other’s company but their outfits also complimented one another. Both opted for a skirt suit in springtime hues; Letizia in solid blush pink and Sofia in a mint floral print.
Letizia's ensemble is repeat of the one she wore during a visit to the United States in November 2013.
The outfit consists of a Felipe Varela blush pink wool skirt suit with a lace blouse.
She accessorized with a tonal patent belt and clutch, and her beige suede 'Leonor' pumps. All her accessories are from Magrit.
There was one significant difference to her outfit today compared to the first time she wore it. She changed up her choice of jewelry, opting to wear the Yanes flower blossom earrings and ring which dates back to 2005. This was a perfect match for her Spring ensemble. However, I was surprised to see her wear a ring. This is only the second occasion Her Majesty has worn a ring since becoming Queen almost a year ago. The first instance was only a fortnight ago at Queen Margrethe's 75th birthday party.
Tomorrow, Queen Letizia will finish the working week at Zarzuela Palace where she will attend various audiences.

The King & Queen of Spain attended the memorial service for the 150 victims of the Germanwings air crash at the Sagrada Familia Cathedral in Barcelona. Given the sober nature of today's service, I will not be commenting on Letizia's style.

Today, their Majesties attended the 'Cervantes Award' ceremony held at the Alcala de Henares University on the outskirts of Madrid. The prize is one of the most regarded literary awards in Spain and Latin America, and is granted annually to honour the lifetime achievement of an eminent writer in the Spanish language.
The award is named in honour of the Spanish author Miguel de Cervantes, who is best known for his satirical novel, Don Quixote. This year, the Cervantes 2014 Award went to the 84-year-old Spanish writer, Juan Goytisolo.
Today, Queen Letizia looked ravishing in red, wearing her bespoke Felipe Varela shirt dress that she premiered last year during a State visit to the Netherlands. The wool crepe dress features an oriental floral embroidery, stitched in ten different shades of red.
Letizia carried a new folio bag, the Adolfo Dominguez 'Aspen' leather wristlet clutch (€169). The sleek, flat leather clutch features a large detachable wristlet and silver hardware finishings. It comes with a discrete front pocket and interior one, for storing away keys, cards, and trinkets.
She also debuted a new pair of red Ayres snakeskin leather pumps from Magrit.
The style appears to be bespoke, however I found this off-the-shelf Magrit 'Brigitt' pump rendered in the same snakeskin leather:
Letizia finished the outfit with her ruby cabochon dangle earrings.
Next week, the Queen has another busy schedule. On Monday she will again join her husband to pay tribute to the victims of the Germanwings air crash disaster. Mid-week she will deliver the Queen Sofía Royal Disability 2014 awards. Letizia will finish the week at Zarzuela Palace and meet with various audiences.

Queen Letizia was back in conservative daywear, following two successive nights of glamorous outfits at awards events. Today she joined her husband King Felipe at the Royal Palace of Madrid to welcome the renowned Spanish writer Juan Goytisolo for a lunch in his honour. Today's lunch is the second literary engagement in less than 24 hours for Her Majesty, who last night attended the Children's Literary Awards wearing a chic and playful Mango jumpsuit.
Many of you will recognize the 1950's inspired outfit from the visit to Belgium in November 2014. It features a white Felipe Varela peplum wool jacket paired with a cornflower blue silk full-circle skirt.
Queen Letizia accessorized with the same cornflower blue suede pumps from Magrit and ocean blue clutch bag by Felipe Varela.
The highlight of today's look was the pearl drop earrings from TOUS. These are new to Letizia's jewelry collection and feature cultured freshwater pearls dangling from a fine diamond post set in 18K white gold.
Today's lunch was the traditional pre-ceremony meeting of the Cervantes Prize which is held on the eve of the awards presentation to take place at the University of Alcalá. Tomorrow, the King and Queen of Spain will deliver the award to Mr Goytisolo and grant him the highest recognition in Spanish and Latin American literature.

Today Queen Letizia presented two children's literature awards, “El Barco de Vapor” and “Gran Angular”. The annual awards are organised by the SM Foundation whose goal is to promote children’s books and reading.
Her Majesty repeated a playful outfit she debuted last month at the "Teresa of Jesus" exhibition.
The ensemble consists of a trendy Mango navy jumpsuit which you can buy directly from
Mango or Amazon.
Letizia accessorized the outfit in much the same way, consisting of a metallic wide waist belt and Magrit strap sandals.
Letizia carried a metallic snake embossed flap clutch bag, the brand of which is unknown.
Núria Tiburcio from the Spanish magazine Vanitatis informs me that the bag dates back to 2011:
Queen Letizia premiered some eye-catching jewelry, consisting of antique gold leaf earrings and matching bracelet.
The brass pieces are from Spanish-born, New York based designer, Paz Sintes. The style is called 'Italian Organic Leaves' and the leaves are hand stitched from a blend of Italian cotton, lurex, polyamide and linen.
Queen Letizia's outfit was perfect for this youth orientated event and deviated slightly from her more conservative looks at past appearances at this award ceremony.
Has Queen Letizia inspired you to don a jumpsuit!?

This evening, Queen Letizia hosted the Woman Magazine awards ceremony at the Casino of Madrid. Queen Letizia sported a new look and revealed a razor-sharp bob haircut. Letzia is known to don a faux-bob hair style to such glitzy events, so I had to double check that her bob was indeed genuine!
The Queen of Spain presented the awards to actress Salma Hayek, orchestra conductor Rina Inma Shara and World Health Organisation director Dr Maria Neira.
Following the award presentations, Her Majesty addressed the audience and congratulated the winners and commended their work. She also spoke of the serious issues facing woman around the world: "we have every reason to believe that in the world of women there are many things you can do differently There are many things that need improvement and change. To mention a few:.. rates of illiteracy, marriages of underage girls, female unemployment, inequality in wages and time that men and women engaged in the house and children."
Queen Letizia premiered a glittering black strapless dress from Felipe Varela. The lace cocktail dress is embellished with tonal beads and finished with a scalloped hem.
She kept her accessories simple, wearing her recently acquired Prada black Saffiano print patent leather pointy toe pumps.
Letizia carried a new elongated black satin clutch bag from Roger Vivier. This elegant 'Pilgrim' tube clutch (€1200) features a Swarovski embellished buckle with Platinum plated hardware.
Letizia tucked her sleek hair behind her ear, revealing the dazzling Yanes white gold and diamond chandelier earrings. I believe these earrings date back to 2006, but this is the first occasion she has worn them in public since becoming Queen in June last year.
I adore Queen Letizia's chic and sophisticated bob cut. It frames her face perfectly, and enhances her elegant poise.

Royals and dignitaries from across Europe converged at the Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen on Wednesday evening to celebrate the 75th birthday of Denmark's Queen Margrethe.
The King and Queen of Spain were part of a prestigious guest list at the gala event in the Danish capital.
Queen Margrethe's son and heir, Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark and his glamorous wife Princess Mary were of course in attendance at the royal birthday dinner.
Prince Federick was also joined by his younger brother Prince Joachim and wife, Princess Marie.
Other notable guests included King Willem Alexander of the Netherlands and his wife Queen Maxima:
King Philippe of Belgium and Queen Mathilde of Belgium:
King Carl Gustaf of Sweden and Queen Silvia of Sweden:
The crowned heads of Europe sat together at the banquet.
Whilst most of the female guests wore solid-coloured gowns, Queen Letizia opted for something a little more contrasting, choosing a sleeveless, white tulle dress featuring embroidered black flowers. The monochrome gown is a bespoke creation from her designer of choice, Felipe Varela.
Letizia added a touch of Spanish flamenco styling with a tonal black Manila shawl, and kept her accessories in the same tone, carrying a black clutch and wearing Magrit black peep-toe heels.
The shawl wrap is not new and the earliest photo I could find of it dates back to October 2004, when Letizia attended a gala dinner in New York:
Now let's take a look at Queen Letizia's jewellery.
Her Majesty debuted the Ansorena Fleur de Lys tiara, also dubbed the "Princess" Tiara. The piece features 450 diamonds, ten Australian pearls, and 3000 gemstones. Although this is not a new piece, it is the first occasion Letizia has donned this sparkly headpiece.
The central fleur-de-lis element of the piece is detachable and can be worn as a brooch, and Letizia has only ever worn that piece of the larger tiara, usually as a brooch to secure the sash of one of her orders.
In 2009 it was reported that the then Prince Felipe commissioned Ansorena to design a tiara for a fifth wedding anniversary present for his wife. Ansorena created a piece that is a junior version of the hefty Fleur de Lis tiara which they made over 100 years ago and is reserved for the Queens of Spain.
There was another surprising piece of jewelry worn by Letizia tonight. We saw the return of her Bvlgari Parenthesis ring, made of 18 carat white gold and pavé diamonds. It was reportedly a gift from the Italian jeweler to mark the birth of Felipe and Letizia's second child, Infanta Sofía. This is the first occasion Letizia has worn a ring since she became Queen in June last year.
Queen Letizia also wore her Cartier art deco white gold and diamond bracelet. She pinned her sash with a beautiful diamond brooch and complimented her tiara by wearing the Australian diamond and pearl drop earrings.
There's no denying that everybody looked glamorous tonight and wore their finest to toast the sovereign of the Danes!

As honorary president of the Spanish Federation For Rare Diseases, Queen Letizia was in Barcelona today to officiate the 2nd Congress of Rare Childhood Diseases. She looked radiant in a crisp white Felipe Varela pantsuit, signalling that Spring has sprung in Spain!
At the opening of the meeting, Her Majesty made a heartfelt speech and spoke of the need for the educational community to make a commitment that no child suffering from a rare illness feels left out, lonely, neglected, rejected or misunderstood.
Following the meeting, she took time to meet families and children living with a rare disease.
Letizia's white Felipe Varela wool crepe suit has been a staple part of her closet for many years, and today she paired it with a new dusty pink blouse, a perfect accompaniment for her Springtime style.
The top is by Adolfo Domínguez which was identified from this listing on chicfy.com:
Letizia contrasted the pantsuit with a new mulit-coloured leather handbag from Malababa.
On her feet were the Miu Miu Mary Jane nude patent leather pumps with concealed platform.
Letizia completed her seasonal outfit with TOUS moonstone tier drop earrings.
Tomorrow night will be the highlight of the week, when King Felipe and Queen Letizia head to Copenhagen for Queen Margrethe of Denmark's 75th birthday celebrations. We can expect to see Queen Letizia don a glamorous gown and tiara!

Today, Her Majesty the Queen of Spain visited the Artillery Academy in the town of Segovia, located an hour drives north of Madrid.
She meet military personnel, and had an opportunity to tour the academy who's primary purpose is to offer training and development of artillery weapons.
Given the nature of the visit, it was to be expected that Queen Letizia would opt to wear one of her pant-suit ensembles. Today she recycled her red blazer and Mango floral blouse, paired with black straight-leg trousers.
Many bloggers have stated the blazer is also by Mango but that always seemed unlikely to me because I have never found a stock photo from their collection. The silhouette and tailoring of the jacket is reminiscent of Felipe Varela and the style is very similar to other 3-button blazers she has from the Spanish designer. Below is an example of jackets from Felipe Varela's current collection which show a similar silhouette to Letizia's red blazer. I suspect it is a bespoke piece.
Queen Letizia arrived at the academy wearing her red Hugo Boss 'Cegina' wool/cashmere coat (£850) and carrying her Uterque black croc stamped wristlet clutch.
On her feet were the Magrit black leather pointed-toe pumps. Letizia added a touch of playfulness to her outfit by wearing the charming Elena C mini butterfly earrings.
Tomorrow, Her Majesty will be in Barcelona to officiate the second School Uncommon Diseases Congress.
