Her Majesty delivered the Spanish National Flag to the 'Napoles' Infantry Regiment 4.
Queen Letizia was at the Base “Príncipe” in Madrid today to conduct a ceremonial flag presentation.
Her Majesty delivered the Spanish National Flag to the 'Napoles' Infantry Regiment 4.
Queen Letizia donned a familiar outfit for this patriotic occasion.
She wore her Felipe Varela tweed coat dress featuring a hand embroidered black bead floral motif. The bespoke piece was first worn to the National Day parade in October 2016, then in April 2017 for the Cervantes Award ceremony, and again for a luncheon with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia in April 2018.
Today she teamed it with her black Carolina Herrera slingback suede pumps.
On her dress was pinned the Commander dame's bow of the Order of Charles III, and Letizia rounded off the outfit with her Chanel 'Plume' earrings.

I don't think i'll ever tire of seeing this coat dress, it's one of my favourites. I adore these Carolina Herrera slingbacks and the plume earrings nicely echo the embroidery. The Queen looks very elegant and regal. Many thanks for posting on a Saturday!!

Beautiful! I much prefer the black shoes over the nude ones worn before.

The dress looks especially good from the side. The pic where she's handing the flag to the regiment unit. The Chanel earrings perfect for th dress.

What a successful rewear! As stunning today as it was when Letezia first wore it! Her posture is so perfect it enhances any outfit she wears. Seeing the pictures of the earlier outings made me wish her hair was lighter.

I really like this coatdress. A tad unusual, but the Queen looks stunning. She is always so perfectly groomed. I love seeing her in recycled outfits.

That is one fabulous coat dress and no surprises that it comes from the trusty Varela. It's a stunning fit and such an intelligent take on monochrome, so well done it's easy to forget there's no big colour on show. The embroidery is exquisite and I love the way the pattern is more intense on the bodice and then fading away in the skirt, the clean plain panel at the hem stops it all becoming too cluttered. Very stylish. The sling-backs are such a neat touch, the back ankle strap creating a line of its own in keeping with the coatdress pattern.

Yes, I also love the way the pattern is more intense at the top of the dress and diminishes gradually towards the bottom and ends with plain white fabric at the bottom. It's a very artistic and original design from Varela. I think it's a beautiful dress and looks great on Letizia.

Love the whole look, it reminds me of something Oscar de Renta produced. Lovely.

I just wanted to add that the first picture is amazing. Letizia looks so serene, calm and peaceful peering out from that flag. I think she has come a long way in her role and is now very comfortable. She has such a commanding presence in that picture.

I also think Letizia looks better with lighter hair, even some small highlights would draw light up to her face. Her current color which is dark on the top and lighter at the ends is very aging. I hope she will go back to lighter shades soon.

Even though this is worn as a day dress, Queen Letizia gives it a very regal air. It is a successful and elegant outift and co-ordinated with subtlety. The total look is occasion appropriate.

Thanks for keeping this blog alive! Wish there was some way to offer help, it gets kinda busy with Duchesses of Cambridge and Sussex as well - especially when they slip in whole unexpected tours and appearances 0_0 xoxo

Thanks for your support and understanding Bertie x Yes, the unannounced tours and appearances are taking their toll :( I made an effort to keep up with the Duchesses because I didn't want to be behind on all three blogs, even though I am extremely behind in uploading "Closet" products on those blogs. I hope I will find time this weekend to do the catch up posts for Letizia. Alessandra has been sending through the outfit details for each event so it's just a matter filling in the details and posting it. It's loyal readers like you that keep me motivated to keep the blog going xx

I agree with the posters who wish for the queen to revert back to her lighter hair color. I long for her to return to some of the unique style she expressed a few years ago. She has a softness to her coloring and features... and when she repeats those qualities in her hair, clothing and makeup she comes to LIFE... she looks like HERSELF... and she projects as a UNIQUE queen. It has to be tempting to, especially in her role, project a more authoritarian air by "upping the ante" with color and stylistic lines... but that, in my opinion, works against her and makes her look a bit edgy and harsh. My own philosophy is to repeat on your body what you've been given physically and you will SHINE. :)

I think the opposite about her hair.
