Queen Letizia looked pretty in her custom Carolina Herrera peacock floral print dress.
You may recall Her Majesty debuted the frock in March at the London opening of the Sorolla exhibition.
Today, Queen Letizia teamed it with her navy Magrit 'Liz' suede clutch and Nina Ricci suede pumps.
We saw the return of the gold Tous linear dangle earrings which Letizia has worn on a number of occasions since she premiered them in October 2015.
The only new addition to the look today was a gold open oval shaped ring on Letizia's ring finger.
ID UPDATE (16 May 2019): The ring is a handmade piece by budget-jeweler Karen Hallam based in Madrid. It retails for €89 and is made from gold-plated sterling silver.
Today's sartorial decision to opt for a repeat is consistent with previous years. Here's a look back at Letizia's past looks for this annual luncheon since she become Queen consort.

Before this engagement I had a quick look through previous outfits, this Carolina Herrera was top of my list of pieces likely to be repeated for this event. The Queen looks beautiful, I'm so pleased that this dress has been re-worn. The look was let down last time by the messy pony tail at the Sorolla exhibition, so I'm delighted to see her hair styled so nicely - the whole look is perfect. I'm pleased it's been accessorised with different earrings, this particular pair are quite reflective, I hope they caught the colours of the dress and surroundings throughout the day. The suede clutch looks smaller and more compact than the pleated satin one (worn last time) which I thought was too big and voluminous, I found it distracting. It's a thoughtful touch that the king's tie compliments the rouge/orange in the dress. Although the navy accessories are very sophisticated, it would have been interesting to have seen the dress styled with dark teal shoes and a clutch to match the base colour of the fabric. I've very much enjoyed the last two looks but I'm excited to see a new Felipe Varela day piece for a special occasion.

I think this frock must be better in person, the colours are pretty and the the fabric good quality, in the videos the moving is as a 40s dress, however the complete view is a bit too much....

Sooo happy to see this wonderful Herrera again! I love that exotic print to bits with its rich green and blue jewel tones and the fiery touches of peach to add zest. The luxuriance of colour on a classic design works well in a palace context.

What a stunning outfit. The Queen looks beautiful. Her navy accessories look fantastic. Love the earrings and I too, preferred her hair this time around,. A look at previous years was very interesting. The red ensemble was a standout for me, really gorgeous. You possibly may not always like what the Queen wears but she is always perfectly groomed and styled.

Still a fan. I like the drama of this pattern and think she wears it, rather than the dress wearing her. I like how the dress is modest but figure-flattering. I know opinions are mixed; for me this dress is fresh and modern.
