King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia hosted a luncheon for His Royal Highness the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia who is on an official visit to Spain.
Her Majesty donned a familiar outfit for this stately occasion held in the Royal Palace in Madrid.
She aired the off-white Felipe Varela tweed coat dress hand embroidered with a black beaded floral motif. The bespoke piece was first worn to the National day parade in October 2016, and again in April 2017 for the Cervantes Award ceremony.
Queen Letizia changed up the look with black accessories. On her feet were her black patent leather pumps by LODI, and she carried a new black satin clutch bag.
It is the Magrit 'Mary' handbag (€240) - a style Letizia also owns in red.
Letizia wore her hair in a loose ponytail, showcasing her elegant diamond and pearl drop earrings. These have been in her possession for well over a decade but it is only the second time she has worn them since becoming the Queen of Spain. The design is very similar to her bezel set diamonds and Australian pearl earrings.

That dress is very pretty and just right for a royal luncheon! I liked the light accessories better but black works too. I would like to see the dress worn with a short diamond necklace instead of a dangling earring. Since I really like the picture where she has her hair half up half down, I think I want the neckline less bare whether with hair or jewellery or a white silk scarf.

Letizia hates the necklaces. I don't know why exactly. There must be some of them in the Royal jewellery box.

Interesting! I hadn't noticed but now that you mention it, you are correct. I don't even have my ears pierced so she and I are on different wavelengths where accessories are concerned.

The black accessories bring out the print of the dress much better than the beige. It's an improvement for this lovely dress. I have always liked the way Letizia experiments with different hairstyles. Her hairdressor/stylists comes up with some very creative ways to fix up her hair so it always looks chic and elegant..

This is a welcome retread in my book, this is a terrific working of monochrome, the embroidery is brilliant. I like how it brings a quiet opulence through the complexity of the patterns, very handy for meeting a Saudi prince. It's a classic Verela silhouette which suits Letizia so well, I like the lower scoop neckline as a change from other Varela coat dresses Letizia has worn. The black accessories finish it perfectly, though they might be a little heavy in another less formal setting
