The King and Queen of Spain attended the funeral service of José Pedro Pérez-Llorca Rodrigo, a Spanish lawyer who served as the country's Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1980 to 1982. He was also one of the Fathers of the 1978 Constitution and played a key role in his country's transition to democracy.
Queen Letizia was respectfully dressed in black for the sombre occasion wearing her Carolina Herrera A-Line Belted Coat.
She carried her modified Felipe Varela leather chevron quilted envelope clutch, and on her feet were her Magrit leather pointed toe pumps.
She kept on the Gold & Rose double dagger earrings which she wore to the Google event earlier today.

This coat is beautiful, elegant and stylish. The expert design and tailoring almost make it look like a dress or coatdress. The wide wraparound belt adds some curves to Letizia's figure and make her look more feminine. The length is perfect while the neckline, gorgeous shoes and purse combine to create an outfit that shows respect and dignity at this solemn occasion.

You're right about the coatdress aspect, the tailoring fits like a glove and brings it into that category. I like your other point too about how the belt and full skirt help from Letizia into some feminine curves. It's a masterly piece of tailoring all right and, as Wendy points out, just right for a cold snap.

Such a stunning coat and the fabulous Herrera tailoring is an excellent and respectful tribute in itself for the occasion. A subdued clutch, classic courts, and minimal jewellery -- perfect.

A beautiful coat, the Queen looks very dignified looking. It gives her more curves, it looks vey becoming.

Absolutely stunning, I love this coat every time she wears it! This time it looks even better. I wonder if she has had it tailored to nip in a bit at the waist? I also love the sophisticated tones of her makeup, the neutral rose tones are respectful for this occasion. I would love to know more about the makeup if you ever come across this information!

I've tried to find more photographs of this Felipe Varela clutch and it looks like the FV logo has been removed, I'm so pleased as I don't like bold branding. This Carolina Herrera coat is a beauty, the Queen looks restrained but regal for the service. Minor quibble, I would have worn a more classical earring, perhaps the Tous puppies with diamonds where the coat is so feminine.
