King & Queen of Spain arrive in Catalonia for Princess of Girona Awards 2018

King Felipe & Queen Letizia made their annual pilgrimage to Catalonia today for the Princess of Girona Awards. The awards recognize exceptional achievements made by the youth of Spain in areas such as scientific research, artistic creativity, social solidarity and entrepreneurship.

The program of activities kicked off with an informal meeting with the winners of previous editions and a luncheon meeting with the Advisory Council of the Princess of Girona Foundation.

This was followed by a meeting with the Board of the Princess of Girona Foundation.

This skirt makes another appearance. I think I like the navy top the best of all. I think they tried mustard, light blue and white on previous occasions. I'm not crazy about the different sleeve lengths. It looks like someone made a mistake. But $800 US is very expensive for such a simple cotton top. Why so expensive???

I am also not crazy about the different sleeve lengths. I agree with Sandy that it looks like someone forgot to sew on the right sleeve. I also agree that almost $800 is ridiculously expensive. I think I liked this skirt best with the light blue sweater.

Out of all of the times she has worn this skirt I think this is my favourite. I love the blue top and the clutch. I hope she wears the top again.

Finally somebody has followed my advice! She should only wear this skirt with a navy shirt. I still don't like the pattern on the skirt but the whole ensemble is pleasing to the eye now. While I love the draping on the shirt and that it's cotton, the asymmetrical sleeves are silly and the price is outrageous.

At last -- we get to see this lovely skirt with a dark top! An improvement on the previous colour matches though I'm still not sure it really works. Now I see it with a dark top I realise how much dark there is in the skirt pattern. I'm glad Letizia likes wearing the skirt but it looks like a problem one in the outfit matching department

Letizia has a cobalt blue knit top which I'm convinced would work well with this skirt. All other colourways have been tried so maybe it's next!
