King & Queen of Spain host luncheon for President & First Lady of Paraguay

King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain hosted a luncheon at the Royal Palace of Madrid in honour of the President of Paraguay, Mario Abdo Benítez, and the First Lady, Silvana López Moreira, on the occasion of their first official visit to Spain since taking office in August 2018.

The lunch was attended by government officials and representatives of Spanish companies with interests in Paraguay, as well as the field of society, culture, science and sport.

This is a graceful look for the Queen. I appreciate that Letizia may have wanted Her outfit to differentiate from the First Lady's, but I would change the accessories. The black croc-embossed pumps are heavy - I may have preferred Her Carolina Herrera patent nude sling-backs and different earrings (the pearl & diamond earrings, although gorgeous, were worn very recently)

Special mention to First Lady, Silvana López Moreira, whose dress is delightful! The tailoring, hang and length are perfect. I adore the delicate scalloped trimmings against the semi-sheer fabric (the dress is lined) and illustrative embroidery around the hem. I wonder if the dress was created by local artisans in Paraguay... I struggled to find an image of the back of the dress, but I think there may be slightly different landscapes on the front & back. Blush accessories and Her neat updo complement the dress beautifully.

This dress is very feminine and makes Letizia look graceful and elegant. I love the puffy sleeves, the belt tied in a bow at the waist, the pleated bodice and the movement of the delicate fabric. It's great that the Spanish royals swap clothes from time to time. What a coincidence that both ladies wore the same colour on this occasion.

Hmmm…the dress is just okay, but something is off about it for me and I can’t quite put my finger on it.

This is a very pretty and feminine dress. I am not sure what it is, but something with the overall look is lacking. Lackluster in appearance.

The flowing Herrera dress with its fine polka dot is charming on Letizia, it's just a shame that, after some of her more bold experiments, it seems a little tame. Something that was grown-up on Sofia is now a touch naive on sophisticated Letizia. That doesn't stop it from being a most appropriate outfit for a formal lunch at the palace with visiting heads of state. It's quite remarkably similar at what is being worn by Paraguay first lady, Silvana López Moreira.

I find black pumps with the soft Herrera a little severe, and I'm not convinced by the feminine bow on the Magrit pumps which I find rather cluttered against textured leather. The white gold diamond and pearl drops look superb as always and add a valuable hint of grown-up royal. Letizia looks lovely as always.
