Dear Readers,

I will be pausing the blog from 15th Oct 2018 while I cover the Sussex's royal visit Down Under for Meghan's Fashion. Unfortunately I will not have time to post on this blog during the two week tour. I will try do catch up posts following the royal visit.

3 NOV 2018: UPDATE

I am slowly making my through all the events I missed while I was covering the Sussex royal tour. Please be patient with me as a work through the backlog. I want to thank all those who sent me messages of support.

Sorry to hear this, but good decision! It's getting manic for royal news out there - we've just had a wedding, tour and baby over a single weekend. Impossible to keep up, look forward to seeing Letizia again soon.

Bertie, I wanted to nominate you to help keep the Letizia part of the blog going. Your turn of phrase to describe the garments is worthy of Womens Wear Daily. The teatro jumpsuit ..ah! Elizabeth, you may get a bit of a break. I heard they have cut back on Meghan's schedule. I think it was too hectic for her. I don't know why they booked such a long trip considering it is her first pregnancy and she is an older mother.

Dear Elizabeth,
I would like to express my disappointment in your decision to put a hold on Queen Letizia Style in order to cover Meghan's trip down under. We are now about 10 outfits behind on Letizia and this is not fair to her fans. I noticed you had time to keep up to date on the Duchess of Cambridge as well. Both these ladies receive much more attention from the world's press than Letizia and both also have other style blogs dedicated to them. Queen Letizia Style is the only blog I know of that is dedicated to Letizia and offers a comprehensive chronicle of her outfits. I also feel it is unfair to Letizia because she is ( in my opinion) the most beautiful and stylish royal and higher ranking being a Queen. By putting her blog on hold you are in effect saying she is not as important as the members of the British Royal Family. I wish you would reconsider your decision as I really look forward to keeping up to date with Letizia's outfits. I realize you put in a lot of time and effort in keeping these blogs up to date but is it possible to maybe cover some of Meghan's outfits and some of Letizia's outfits concurrently rather than neglect one or the other totally? Thank you for your consideration.

Hi Sandy, there are only so many hours in the day and I am only human. With the little spare time I do have I prefer to spend with my family. Blogging about Queen Letizia is much MORE difficult and time consuming for me because getting access to information and identifying her clothing is more laborious. There is not a large community of royal fashion watchers to assist me with clothing IDs. I mostly have to do it on my own. Also I don't speak Spanish so interpreting events takes time. It takes its toll and to be honest at this stage I'm not sure I will resume the blog because it has all become overwhelming and I have started to lose the enjoyment. I will not make this decision in haste because I know how much people enjoy reading about Queen Letizia but I have to prioritize my time. This has nothing to do with which royal is more important so I find that remark upsetting. This decision is difficult but I will do what is best for ME.

I was afraid it was getting tough for you on the blogging front and fully support whatever you need to do to stay sane -- and stay in touch with your family! I feel guilty at being so late to come to post to this blog, though I visited often, but in the couple of years I've been here I've enjoyed it immensely. For me it is a break-out blog, a real pioneer, and probably for the reasons you've stated, that extra special research. I've learnt so much and loved meeting the other folks here and wish you all the very best whatever you decide. I do hope you haven't been worn out by the Meghan tour -- my goodness, she never wears one outfit where three would do, and some of them so similar! Now, when Letizia's on tour she mixes it up much more....;-)

Thank you Bertie *hug*. Yes the tour was exhausting but at least it was in my timezone so that made things so much easier! I'm not sure who needs 5+ navy dress for a tour but Meghan did look beautiful in each one of them. One thing I love about Queen Letizia, is that she's always full of sartorial surprises and when it comes to style, she's in a league of her own IMO.

I was thinking of you enjoying a royal excursion into your native time zone, what a lesson it was to the rest of us to find out what it's like to have it all happening at the wrong end of the day.

I know it's unfair to compare Meghan's rookie tour with sophisticated Letizia, but sometimes it feels as if the floodtide of her dullness might sweep all before. I would miss QLSB like crazy if it's to be pulled, but fully understand if you explore pastures new, even if they are largely in navy. Btw the Daily Mail has a piece today showing that Meghan wore a total of eight navy tour outfits, including forest walks :)

Elizabeth, I am really very sorry that I upset you. I hope you will accept my apology. I didn't realize all that was involved. I agree you have to do what is best for you. If you decide to end the blog that's fine as I can always keep track of Letizia on Royal Dish or The Daily Mail. They aren't as detailed but I will just have to make do. Thanks again for all you hard work. It is much appreciated.

Dear Elizabeth,
I've always enjoyed following royals but Letizia and your blog particularly are by far my absolute favorites.You are doing a great job and I am pretty sure since Letizia is now a queen, this blog will only be more and more popular. Just like you said, most of the Letizia coverage in in Spanish so it's quite tricky to follow if you don't know the language so your blog is awesome for English speakers.
I really hope that you will continue with it, it is truly amazing.
Maybe (if you don't mind a friendly suggestion) just keep it simple. Just the name of the event, what she wore, a few pics, more than enough. I assume that analyzing every outing in details is quite time consuming so maybe this would be easier.
Anyway, you are doing a great job on all your blogs and we truly appreciate your hard work.

I first became aware of Queen Letizia at Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding - she looked so elegant and pretty in that smokey-pink outfit - so I was delighted to come across this blog last year. Much of my delight is in how the tone of the blog reflects the Queen - dignified, patient and charming. So while there have been many 'bravo' moments on the blog with Letizia's sartorial choices, it's also a resounding bravo to you, too, Elizabeth, for your exceptional and classy work!
