Queen Letizia was in Salamanca today to conduct a ceremonial flag presentation.
Her Majesty delivered the Flag of Spain to the Specialties Regiment of Engineers # 11, a division of the Spanish army.
In the past, Letizia's mother-in-law Queen Sofia set the sartorial tradition of wearing a long black dress and Spanish mantilla at flag presentation ceremonies. Prior to becoming Queen, Letizia had adhered to this dress code.
However, since becoming Queen consort, Letizia has broken with tradition and opted for light hued ensembles.
For her past two flag presentations, Letizia repeated Felipe Varela outfits. Today however, she wore a new baby pink coat and dress set from the Spanish couturier.
The coat features a brocade overlay with wavy trim.
On her left chest was pinned the Commander dame's bow of the Order of Charles III which Letizia also wore on the day of King Felipe VI's Proclamation and again for the flag presentation to the Civil Guard.
On her feet were the Magrit pink reptile pumps.
Letizia finished the look with her pretty Yanes Flower blossom stud earrings.

I think the Queen took a very wise choice when she left behind all those dull black dresses. I love every style she has picked up for each Flag ceremony.
